I have FFXI for PC and PS2, the PC version is upstairs in the office with a broadband connection. The PS2 Version is in my room with a craptacular 56k connection .

This is the Linksys Cable Modem I have upstairs now.

would I be able to use this Linksys wireless router with my current cable modem and get this Linksys wireless bridge for my PS2?

I want to keep my upstairs modem to use in the office and get the wireless connectoin for my PS2 Basically....can anybody recommend anything or confirm what i'm thinking about buying?

May or may not work.

I've had bad experiences trying to get wireless to work with ps2 using a router/switch and a wireless bridge.

If you have $100, I would give the specialized gaming wireless bridge.

better idea (and probably cheaper in the long run too) is just get an electrician to string up cat5 cable from router to ps2.... you'll like it much better (wireless is prone to everything... if you have an option of wirelessvs wired, and wired isn't more than $30 more, go for wired and forget any problems)
