  • There seems to be some ppl with some incompatibily problems: CPU-mobo-Graphics Card

Hi I have a Athlon 2400 XP and a nforce2 A7N8X-X motherboard and I was wondering if it suports AGP 8x because Im thinking of buying a Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb and its important that the motherboard and processor suports the 8x AGP of the card.
Also I'm upgrading my CPU to a Athlon 3200 XP, is that a good upgrade compared to the one I have? is it compatible with my moterboard and will it be compatible with the AGP 8x of the radeon 9800 pro 128 mb?

What would be the bench scores with a Athlon 3200xp and a Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb?

    Thanks

yup, it's got 8x agp (though fsb is only 400mh, but it supports ddr400 memory)... even though i can't tell you a bench score, you can play ffxi pretty damn well w/o video lag in high rez, though you should have >=512 mb ram to increase proformance a lot..

        Because I have a :

        AMD Athlon 2400+ XP
        motherboard: asus nforce2 A7N8X-X
        512 mb RAM DDR
        Xelon Geforce4 FX 5600 XT 256 mb

        Bench 1 : 4200

        Bench2:
        -Low:3250
        -High:2250

I think the score is a little low for my computer. or not?
What do you think is keeping the score low?
Would the AMD XP 3200+ and the ATI Radeon 9800pro 128mb higher the score a lot?

I hope that RAM is pc3200 (200 MHz/400 MHz DDR). If you upgrade to a 3200+, your going to be killing performace if the RAM speed isn't in sync the CPU's FSB.

It should say somewhere on the RAM itself. Any other programs will just tell you it's current speed.
