Looking for a new video card

[Ka1'E1]

Currently I have an Elsia Gladiac Geforce 3, I was looking at getting a ATI RADEON 8500 128MB. Would that give me a big increase?

image quality, yes a bit. Performance? not likely.

the 8500 and geforce 3 perform about the same.

why upgrade to archaic models? get a 9600, 9700, or 9800 series instead of 8500.... i be that 9600 costs the same (though 9600pro and xt would be more)

[Vairu]

9600xt rocks with this game, but for like 10-20$ more you can get a 9800 pro at newegg

[Doppelganger]

unless you are sure your psu won't melt down, go for the 9800 pro.... else, stick to the 9600xt and you'll only miss out on about 150million triangles a second and 1 gigapixel fill....
