Suggestions about what computer to buy?

[tranism]

Hey Guys. Well I have a Sony laptop and my friend recently gave me FFXI as a gift but he didn't realize that my laptop only has an integrated graphics controller in it.

So where can I get a cheap PC? I just need one that runs moderately fast DDR ram and has a AGP slot. Any suggestions? I kinda don't want to spend more than $400 but am willing to go up to $600. I already have a 20" sony monitor I can use so no need to purchase one.

Thanks!

Assemble one yourself. Go to www.newegg.com. Search the postings here. I posted a parts list for a really decent computer for less than 600.

I'm too lazy to check all the current street prices and calculate the totals, but if you can afford it, probably your best bang for buck would be a Barton 2500+ with an nForce2 for some OCing goodness. Depending on what other components you pick, this setup should come pretty close to your target price range.
