REALLY MAD!!! please help!!!!

Basicaly after playing FFXI for 4 months my comp/game/internet decides to crap up and when I am in game not let me do anything that says "downlaoding data"

It really gimps you.

Anyways I don't understand how something can just stop working all of a sudden.

SO for 5 days now I have, tinkered with my connection settings eventually not getting me anywhere, talked on the phone with a playonline representative 4 times which went no where, called a game master 8 times, re installed the game 2 times, etc, etc...

SO I finally here about ports that need to be opened up. I, being a concrete thinker, am saying well why did it work before then and not now, blah blah blah. SO I am willing to try opening the ports needed for playing FFXI.

I went to playonline and searched for there ports, this is what I got:

TCP 25.80.110.443 or 50000-65535
UDP 50000-65535

I have no idea what this means and am looking for anyone who can help me.

I am on a cable modem and the router is a D-link 704P revision A or B.

Please, this is my last hope before I give up a great game for such a stupid reason.

P.S. I do not have the manual for my router and I tried downloading an online manual but I seem to not have a program to be able to read/open it.

the program that you probably need is Adobe Acrobat Reader:

Did your firewall decide to all of a sudden enable itself? Did you enable a firewall manually? This could be a source of your problems...

Are you running background programs that by some chance in all of hell also decide to use the same ports that are required to run FFXI?

Just a few things that came to mind...
