  • Help Please. PC not detecting USB controller adapter.

I have this PSX-to-USB Game Adapter with Vibration Driver . I've been playin since the 21st of December, it stopped working today out of the blue:confused: .

The little green light is on showing that it's cnnected and powered, and the PS2 Controller's analog light is comign on too. Yet when i go to controllers under "control panel", nothing is showing up.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, no luck. I tried switching places with my USB modem, but the Adapter was still not working and the modem was. So i guess the problem is with the adapter.

Can anyone help me please? I've tried playin FFXI with the keyboard/mouse combo and it's too weird and difficult for me, I don't know how you guys do it.

edit: I forgot to add that i have a HP Pavilion xt953 but i added 256MB of ram too

I don't use the mouse. Just the keyboard. Number pad for movement. I'm almost always in first person. I use shortcuts and macros for almost everything else. The Zero key on the numb pad targets. The - key brings up the main menu. The Regular arrow keys (not num pad) look, and scroll though menu's.
As for your USB problem I've seen that happen with those adapters before. I'm not sure what caused yours but a friend of mine's com port for it changed out of the blue. Also it's possible somehow the port became burned out (static electricity). Try changing ports or put in an aftermarket PCI USB card.

No no both the USB ports are fine because i tried plugging my modem into both ports and it worked. The adapter for the controller on the other hand does'nt work in either.

The thing that sucks is, I bought this right before X-mas...less than 30 days ago but i don't have the receipt anymore so it's not like i could go exchange it or anything....guess i'll go buy another and try to exchange the problem one in it's place....somethin to that effect.

I really hate the keyboard because my hands feel cramped on it, i can't wrap my hands around it like a controller .

Most stores will EXCHANGE without a receipt...You just can't get your money back or get a different item. Another option would be to go buy a PC controller that you like. Microsoft and Logitec make some pretty decent ones...Though not the cheapest. I saw THE COOLEST controller the other day at Game stop. It was a PS2 controller designed to look the the original NES controller...F'n sweet.
