  • Attempting to Install a Processor, some help...

Well i finally got my new processor, and was all excited to get it installed. Well i opened up my comp to see the damned A socket to be in a spot where my hands aren't able to get free-range over the entire heatsink/fan. I dont really have any idea what to do, and i dont really have the time during the day to take it to a PC Person (Might have to find some). Also my computer is a Hewlett-Packard, for anyone who knows how badly they cram everything inside there. Well is there anything else i may try, or is PC Mechanic the only option I have?

There should be a way to unscrew other parts of the case, take out the motherboard partially, etc. The power supply and virtually everything should have screws and come out.

I learned my lesson about name branded/maker made cases years ago, with my packard bell 25 mhz. Since then I always kind of build my own.

ya those hp,compaq's and dells are made like that for a reason. they want you to keep going back to them. best bet either get a new spiffy case, or just remove everything which can be a pain for a first timer.
