  • How much should I Overclock!!!!!!!!!!!

Well my Geforce 2 MX 100/200 is really starting to show its age. With its normal settings it only hit 1388 on low. Now with a little overclocking I got to 1577 from going to 170 to 220 one my video card (I originally went to 250 and my computer went haywire and I had to reset it). So should I go like an extra 10 or so (every 10 increase benchmark about by 50 or something), stay where I'm at, or don't overclock its to dangerous. Because the worse I see could happen is my video card fries and it was worthless anyway so I buy a Geforce 4 Ti for $80 bucks (or I hope thats all can happen).

Actually, the worse that can happen is that you fry your motherboard or parts of it. I fried my AGP port on my board once but the card was fine. You're better off buying a new card instead of risking damage and instability. If you are insistant on overclocking, anyone will agree that proper cooling is essential.

well, do u have any fans in your comp other then the one on the processor? If you dont then more then likely youu have poor cooling.

Make sure you have alot of case fans, also make sure your room is not an oven. Buy an after market cooling HSF. and use Themal Epoxy to keep it on because im sure yours has improper mounting brackets

But on a geforce 2 the most you could get a 10% increase.....and thats not even that much, go buy the 9600pro. Or sell your soul and get your TI4.....

the 64mb ti 4200 is dirt cheap now, and it's good enough for playing ffxi. while it's no where near as good as the 9600pro, it is half the price.

Its an MX.... overclocking is pointless no point in burning up your PC trying to make this $20 video card keep up with a $60 one
