  • geforce 4 4400 bench scores

i have a 2000+ amd athlon 512 ddr ram and a 80 gig, 60 gig hdd. with all this and my geforce 4 4400 graphics cardi score about 3000 on low and 2500 on high is this good or not ?????

im afraid when the game comes out i wont be able to enjoy it if it runs slow.

Don't worry, you'll be able to play the game with high frame rates with a score of 3000!
(you might have to turn some of the really high end features off though)

I've just this minute run the bench on my setup (WinXP Pro, 256mb RAM, Radeon 9600Pro clocked to just under 450MHz) and got 3217 on low, 2710 for high, and it kicks ass on my extended desktop (read: TV )

I've also read somewhere that people with 'lower' scores on the bench could run the game well some of the cool stuff turned on - but that might have been about the original benchmark.

A quick babelfish translation of what kind of performance we can expect from our benchmark scores (they are both in the same category) is:
"The FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows it is expected it is the machine which can operate very comfortably in default state. The video card is above recommendation environment, if is, the " FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows " there is no stress even with high resolution mode and is a possibility of operating."

God I love Japanese translators :p
So it seems we can run it on high res when it comes out and "and is a possibility of operating[max everything?]"

Anyway, as they say - it's good to talk but I'll shut up now.

I have a Nvidia 64mb GeForce 3, P4 1.80 ghz, 256 ram, and well over 30 gigs of free space on my hard drive. Yet on the Bench 2 I only get a 1600 on high. What's the problem?

Try running low and see what you get. If you read http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/benchmark.html you'll see what the scores mean for low-resolution mode.

1600 for high res isn't so bad. You'll polly get 1800-2000 on low res (2000 means Even Match).

I'd get 512 total ram minimum and a 128mb vid card tho.

When you start the official benchmark software, a score is displayed every time map makes full cycle. You can tell your computer's specifications by this score.
The meaning of various score values are explained below. However, this indicator is only for reference and does not guarantee that your system will run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows.
Before downloading or using the official benchmark software, please read and agree to the Software License Agreement.

Note: The following scores are for low-resolution mode.

Cannot run - 999: "Too Weak" PC
Unfortunately, we assume that the specifications of your computer do not meet requirements to run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows. If you have this score even though your computer meets the minimum system requirements, please adjust the software resident on your PC.
If your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements, please consider upgrading your machine.

1000 to 1499: "Easy Prey" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows.
However, your frame rate may drop when in a party with lots of effects or in crowded cities.
You should set the game settings (such as resolution and texture) as low as possible.
In addition, if these symptoms bother you, you may consider upgrading your computer (such as increasing the amount of memory or upgrading your graphics card, etc).

1500 to 1999: "Decent Challenge" PC
We assume that your computer can easily run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows with the default settings. If the frame rate bothers you when you run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows, you may change the game settings (resolution or texture settings, etc) or adjust the display of weather effects.

2000 to 2499: "Even Match" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows enjoyably with the default settings. You should be able to play easily with weather effects on.

                  2500 to 2999: "Tough" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows enjoyably with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, we recommend that you increase the resolution of FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows. FINAL FANTASY XI might run just as smoothly as in low resolution mode.

3000 to 3999: "Very tough" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows enjoyably with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, it may be possible to run "FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows" easily even in high resolution mode.

4000 or above: "Incredibly tough" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows incredibly well with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, it may be possible to run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows easily even in high resolution mode or with bump mapping enabled.

7000 or above: "Impossible to gauge"
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows excellently with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, we recommend that you try out various configuration settings of FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows.

Actually I got a 2484 on low. Maybe I'm not as bad off as I thought. I still want more RAM though, been meaning to buy some for awhile. And maybe I'll go for a GeForce 4 before release.

with 2484 you may be able to adjust your video settings to get 2500. In either case, looks like you'll do fine at default settings according to the table (Even Match). You may even be able to increase resolution one notch and play with weather off. Good luck.

                          GeForce 4 Ti 4400 128

                          High:3200+

1.2K difference. Thinking of adding another 512 stick of pc2700 and getting the ATI Radeon 9600 EX to bring my high score up.

Think 3200 can run FFXI with all the extras set to max?

                            40gb of memory!!?

                            (:

j/k. I know you meant a 40 gb harddrive. I thini 60-80 would be better tho. 512 ddr is fine. In fact I think this system is overkill. Maybe not overkill, but definitely better than mine. lol

You'll be pulling high res, weather effects, and bump mapping with little or no problem.

                            Edit:

Anubis. Please read the table I posted above. The numbers go by your low res score, not the high res. 4400 should do nicely with 1024x768 with everything on. I dunno about 1280x768 tho.
