Id like to play FFXI at the best I can(And I Don't have a job here ppl:p im only 14) Thx in Advance!

well there are plenty of things you can buy.

Heh heh, it's funny. I upgraded my computer and got your score. lol.. whoops.. off the subject..

First priority, um.. get a better video card definitly..
I also suggest to get that 384MB of RAM to 512MB...
Ram never really made a big difference for me, but it's a "just in case" thing.
Hm... that's about it.. Your proccessor has a nice speed.
        Good luck.

By the way, don't trust the benchmark too much. It's a little on the inaccurate side, if you know what I mean.

          don't listen to that...
first is ram, 512 at least.
then comes new graphics card (9600 will bork best)
then a new hdd is the next best thing to do. after dell install, your 28gig disk is now down to 25 at most. after ffxi, it's down to 19. i believe that it is also a 5400rpm disk, so your going about 4600rpm less than aerobahn, and about 1800rpm less than almost everyone else.

Ram is gonna be the cheapest upgrade you can do.

I dunno what type of ram you have, but 512MB of Pc133 is 38 dollars, up to 72 dollars for 512MB of PC3200 ddr ram.

70 bux give or take a couple of dollars will buy you a nice 60gig 7200RPM hard drive.

And if you look around, you can find a radeon 9600 pro for under 150 dollars.

I'm loosely quoting prices from pricewatch.com, but if you buy them in stores, they'll cost more for sure.

it's a common mistake, ram is more important than a better video card, if that card can meet the requirements well. the gf3 and above can run ffxi, but more ram will be needed to run ffxi (run it semi smothly). the hdd is also needed, smaller drives (other than SATA and server drives) usually run slower than the larger ones, and store a lot less. you should think of upping your ram to 384 or more, even if you get ffxi for ps2. comps will need more recourses for OS and apps (XP+word+WMP=100mb ram/120mb VM+IE@5mb ram/15mb VM[3of them]=115mb ram/~160mb VM).

Well more ram is not always important. It depends on the game.

I could run unreal tournament more smoothly with 256 mb of ram on a 9800 pro, than 512 mb of ram on a G3 ti200. If both cpus were 3.2ghz The fast cpu could off load calculations and make up for the lesser amount of ram. But Ram provides a more noteable inprovement ALL around. But as far as games go Its a catch 22.

                      Smaller does not equal slower.
If they both have the same ammount of cache and the same RPM they wont preform any better. Unless of course you fill up the smaller drive.

Also my 10000rpm 36 gig can beat a 100gig SCSI drive

For loading times because the entire FFXI game i on the harddrive A fast hard drive is needed. Which is why i bought the 10000 SATA Raptor. Just for FFXI

Newegg is selling a WD 80gig HD, 7200 RPM 8mb cache for 78 dollars. Its a steal compared to $61.50 for half the capacity (the 40gig that Fire mentioned).

If your Dell is a celeron 2.0, I think upgrading it would be a lost cause. Spending a little money wouldnt help much, and spending too much would be a waste as you could just build a new computer.

I think you're fine with a 2200 score. If it is a celeron, I dont think having 512 ram with a 9800 pro, etc will help much. Your computer is only as fast as its weakest component.

Do you have a celeron? or the full p4???

please buy another stick of ram right away.
Also take out the geforce and put it to the side for now ill tell you what todo with it in a minute.
Ok take your new 9600pro or 9800 pro and stick it in your agp slot. uninstall crap nvidia drivers install ATI's cool CAT Drivers

Ok now take your geforce. Some people like a little more spice with theirs. The the 64mb version is better suited as breakfast than lunch or dinner.

Ok step one, get a non-stick frying pan and put over medium open flame oven.

2, Pull out 1 stick for pure butter, and no land o lakes crap either.
Cover the whole frying pan with a light coating.

3, Place Geforce face down, Make sure its perfectly flat or the ram wont cook evenly, Break 1 egg and beat it till all is yellow.

4, Put 1 cup of chopped onions, and 4 ounces of bacon bits. Next
we take a carton of heavy cream add just splash.

5 Wait till ram have an even golden brown then flip it over.
we then add come thyme, and garlic to get rid of that fake
                          gpu flavor.
6 Serve with a large cup of OJ, and enjoy mmmmmmmmmm
