I am really worried ! HELP!

I ordered a new computer about a week ago, and it has a ATI RADEON 9800, and i am really worried because some ppl are telling me that you can only run ffxi if you have a GeForce card and some ppl are tellin me that 9800 wont run for this game! can anyone shed some facts or anythign that all!? Thank you very much in advance!

It'll run just fine, creating a game for use of only one type of video card is not very smart.:sweat:

if the game's good enough, then you partner with the video card company and only make it for their cards and through that you monopolize the entire video card and gaming industry... heh i'd say it's pretty smart :sweat: until you get sued and then lose it all...

yeah that's like making toothpaste that can only be used by a certain toothbrush... not gonna happen heh. you'll be more than fine with your card.

talking about him, you should check his post on how to flash bios your 9800 to a 9800pro.

playing FFXI with that video card is cool.I'm planning to get Radeon 9800 pro for my build in pc.I heard about on the test on ATI and Nvidia GeForces on Half-Life 2 it seems that Gabe is having problems running Nvidia Geforce 5900 video cards.so I would go for Ati radeon 9800 pro for running FFXI.

I think I'm going to use my Radeon 9600 pro. I've read about how the 9600 series is a lot more overclock friendly than the other Radeon series. I just OCed mine about 150MhZ on the core, and almost 60 on the memory speed. Here's hoping that FFXIs sweet-looking backgrounds won't make my rig flake out!

The ATI 9800, is a very good card to play FFXI with. If you flash the bios, it is even better! Good luck, and have fun!
