I would like to run FFXI sort of well, i know that i need to do major updating to run it really well.

My Specs:
P4 1.3
384 RDRAMM
GeForce 2 mx/mx 200 64MB
20GB Free HD

Score: Was running around 2000, but for some reason its 1700 now


Thinking to buy a Sapphire RADEON 9600 ATLANTIS 256MB DDR

if you get those three things you will have goodlooking graphics and smooth game play.

New video card with those kinds of CPU+RAM specs won't help.
New everything, except the case, mouse, keyboard, monitor, and speakers =^_-=

Look you don't need all that fancy, shamcy RAM or CPU... Believe me if you just want to play FFXI, get a video card. This will set you above. Your RAM is absolutely fine. In fact, your CPU matches mine in speed (I have a Celeron ). Look, just get the video card you wanted. Look at the official ffxi site for minimum requirements and recomended requirements. Do not hassle yourself over getting a new CPU. No one can have the perfect machine.
Your only problem is your video card... It's below the recommended. That's it... If your CPU is over 800 your going to be fine... No worries

when running the benchmark, always have no apps running. if you dl the new fx detanator 45.53 driver from nvidia, you will get a small boost.

What good would a new video card do for a system like that? It could help with newer antialiasing techniques, but with a system like that, AA and AF should be forced off.
