I was wondering what peoples thoughts are about the 9600 pro. is it worth getting or what?

It is definatley a good purchase if you cant afford the 9700 pro. I might think of getting one as well when i have the money.

Aren't you able to flash the chip on the 9600 pro to have it perform better. Or was that a different ATI card that I heard about?If people went threw life without question and did as destiny layed before them, the single thought of one being in control of one's life would be lost to all.Comment

You are thinking of the ati 9500, not the 9500 pro. The early 9500's have the red boards and the L shaped memory which were identical to the 9700 boards. Ati found it cheaper to mass produce the 9700 boards and just downgrade the card and call it a 9500.Aren't you able to flash the chip on the 9600 pro to have it perform better. Or was that a different ATI card that I heard about?

the 9600's core runs VERY VERY VERY cool. You can over clock them a great DEAL! i got a 150mhz increase (with watercooling) and a 90 to 110 increase with stock cooling.Comment
