I dont know about you but I prefer to have less disks to keep track of. Besides, my DVD-ROM drive is like 2x faster with installing programs then my CD-ROM drive.

Meh. It's just that all the complaints about ppl not having a dvd reader is getting to me. Even ppl in my LS are going out to buy a cheapo drive today because they didn't know TAU was dvd only.

How can people have up to date PC's to run FFXI and not have a dvd drive? lol

Thats like having a PS1 as your only gaming system! =P

for the xbox 360 ffxi can you log on to the game just like the ps2 did where u dont use the disk and just load it from the hard drive or do u need to use the disk to play ffxi on xbox 360 all the time ? i hope not i loved being able to play the game from the hard drive only

You need the disk in. Xbox's interface (in it's current form) doesn't allow to boot straight from HD. So it requires the disk as a "security measure" of sorts...

I thought we couldn't access any of the new content (areas, quests, etc) until tommorow's update? Was it moved up to today? If so, any idea when the update will finish in EST?

Also, I'm quite disappointed that we are once again treated to the original CG movie intro, instead of a new one. I'd love to see the scenes from CoP brought to life in a beautiful CG movie.

Btw, I ran Properties on the DVD. It's only 878 MB (921,585,664 bytes). They coulda put that on 2 CDs... >.>

Edit: Btw, I laughed when I opened the box. So much space... 90% of that $29.99 went into the box. Maybe 95%.
