On a side note, update is slow! I have a fast connection, but it still says it going to be two and a half hours!
True, BUT at the top of the page it basically says "these come from trials of the magian and are the best of the god damn best." The scythes delay though seem to finally put a curb stomp on my 5 hit build for drk though. meh.

You can Manifestation Klimaform, and that's Dark Magic.

You should probably be able to Manifestation Dread Spikes.

Well, I could have sworn SE said something about "keeping jobs unique."

Also, I see the changes to spell enmity and more nukes for RDM as a hint that we may very well be trending away from burn parties. Face it, the current population of FFXI is growing too small to support the exclusive nature of burn parties. At this phase, I think balanced parties are a better trend, just as they were in the early years.

Empyrean/magian, both inter-related, and yeah probably, that Polearm has 111DMG .... 492 delay. Currently with fully updated Magian Gungnir you only get 107DMG.... so many questions! I'm so stoked.

Those are Empyrean weapons and will most likely drop in Abyssea, or be available through some Abyssea related quest.

Well my hope for this is that SE released a screen shot for one of these updates with a picture of a drk doing stunga, but we didnt get the spell. Dread Spikes is still technically dark magic and not enhancing magic so its the same class as stun. Idk, I'll have to race drk to 80 instead of finshing getting thf to 40 since now I'm worried.

Edit: wiki says dark magic works even though the description doesn't mention it. I guess it's gonna fall under whether its a no spike thing or no enhancing magic thing.

    MMM
The time restriction for ordering a maze is now 24 hours (Earth time) since you last placed an order. (Previously, the counter would reset each day, whether or not 24 hours had passed.)
So now you can't do two runs in a row every other day on both sides of JP midnight? Not that I ever did this (even when I could find anyone interested, they weren't interested in the morning), but this is likely to annoy some JPs.

    (WoE)
Players may warp to the Walk of Echoes by examining the Veridical Conflux located in Xarcabard [s] while in possession of the "Kupofried's Medallion" key item. The key item may be purchased by examining the same conflux and speaking with the moogle Kupofried.
And exactly where in Xarcabard (S) is this thingy? LOL at having to run past more goddamn imps to get there.

he need to lay claim to battlefields has been omitted from the Walk of Echoes, and any one may enter and partake in battle until the maximum capacity of thirty-six adventurers has been reached. The time limit for each battle is 30 minutes, with no extensions possible. The clock will start ticking the instant the enemy is engaged, and participants must vanquish all monsters that appear within the allotted time in order to secure victory.
So you can join late, but the timer is based on when someone else starts the battle. Compared to CB, it's good that you won't have long stretches of time with no battle going on, but it's still bad that you can enter late. Hopefully there will be some way to know how far along a given battle is.

    * The key item Kupofried's Medallion will be expended upon entry into a battlefield. To reacquire the key item, players must wait one Vana'dielian day before examining the veridical conflux located in Xarcabard [s] once more.
And tough titties if you entered a battle with 5 minutes left. You damn well better be able to tell how far along a battle is.

The number of battlefields available will at first be limited, but more can be unlocked in succession by cooperating with other players and securing victory in preceding battlefields. Additional battlefields are being planned for future version updates.
So in that way it's sort of like Dynamis (you unlock new areas by clearing the first areas), but it's only half an hour, and you can go in once a day. It's "Dynamis Lite" for WoTG.

only those participants whose contribution to the battle was deemed satisfactory
...still no clarification on whether that will be skewed in favor of DDs and tanks, and against healers, as in CB

    Genkai
To increase character job levels to 76 and beyond, players must complete the new limit break quest "New Worlds Await" offered by the Nomad Moogle stationed at the Ru'Lude Gardens.
WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP! RED ALERT! THE AREA "RU'LUDE GARDENS" IS GOING DOWN FOR EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE!
Still no details about what you actually have to do, though.

I knew Shihu-Danhu was trying to tell me something by landing me there just before maintenance hit.

Shit we've mostly seen before with a few new things buried in between
The white magic spell "Aquaveil" will now guard against spell interruption a set number of times.
lolwut? Seems that they finally realized that interrupts are a problem, and did more than Mana Wall. 333333333333

Enmity generation for the following spells has been adjusted:
Sleep / Sleep II / Dispel / Blind / Blind II / Bind
Higher or lower? It's always fun when you're the BLM and you've held a mob through five or six sleeps before it starts resisting, then when the DDs get around to it, it tears your face off before they can get its attention.

A cap has been placed upon status enhancements granted by certain food items.
Probably for foods that would have needed to be capped at 75-ish anyhow. Most enhancement food has caps.

The scholar ability "Accession" does not affect the white magic spell "Haste".
    DENIED!

    More new stuff
Evolith may now be sold to merchant NPCs.
Evolith may now be traded to outpost traders.
{/joy} Now they're no longer lumps of coal that give you a sad after opening a brown chest.

The layout of expansion and add-on content logos has been altered.
It was getting kind of crowded and messy.

In the PlayStation®2 version of the game, a blackout may occur during the cutscenes of the quest "Face of the Future."
It won't be the first time that I've had that happen on PS2. Good that they're actually letting you get past in some means other than having to get on the PC version for a moment.

    WTF?
    Ilm-long Sub => Fulm-long Sub
How do you think Jared got so thin? Because they shrank the sub!
Or are we finally getting underwater vehicles?

Now turn on the freaking "Update" button so I can start downloading already.

Wow epic dick move by SE....

No AoE haste, and they shove a lamp up RDM and /RDM's asses. Rest of it is win, but what the hell SE....

Like accession haste would be all that broken. SCH can already AoE everything else SMN can, why leave haste out .... Looks like WHM/RDM is going to win out over /SCH in the end after all.
