I'm sure BLM's will get the shaft in this one too. In order to make any decent kind of Campaign XP, I have to play on PLD or NIN. Then and only then can I ensure 1.) I'm safe 2.) I can cap out my XP.

If I play my BLM, I cast a few nukes and I'm kiting shyt around the tower until I get so mad, I just -ga 3 then I'm kiting about 8 things around the zone until they give up.

I suppose I could always go BLM/DNC and wack some crap with a staff... cast a few nukes and faceplant into the dirt. -shrug-

But in this new thing, WoE, I can already tell you the PLD's and NIN's are gonna be the one's grabbing the chesty.

Here's crossing my fingers for instanced type dungeons ........

Campaign is my life so this kind of event is perfect for me.

I just hope I can actually tank NMs here too (as a RDM.) But going support/lolrdmDD or even PLD99/RDM49 (Now with Haste!) wouldn't be bad either.

Even better if this makes less people attend certain Campaign zones. Sometimes they just wont let me solo a NM because I can take up to an hour to kill him.

I would say that your getting that vibe because never in the past year and a half has SE done an update that pleased everyone. Infact, almost everything they've implemented has had a drawback designed to keep you paying your monthly fee over and over again.

Umm . . . yeah, no. I think (at least part of) the bad vibe was more along the lines of:

- Vanquishing all foes within the allotted time will produce a treasure chest, and only those participants whose contribution to the battle was deemed satisfactory will be granted the right to cast lots upon the contents.
- Highly evaluated combatants will be further rewarded with bounty befitting their standing.

. . . being roughly translated to . . .

Not to mention that I have a bad feeling about whatever 76+ gear gets introduced. It's practically a tautology at this point in the game to say that it will either an utter waste of time to get that isn't even remotely worth it (see: most if not all Evoliths), or at least partially eclipse what you guys are using at 75 right now.

I just don't think any of the news presented regarding what Walk of Echoes even is bodes all too well, and all of you of all people ought to know that I'm not exactly Mister Negativity around here. It seems like it might be due for some emergency maintenances come update day, as well . . .

The treasure chest after battle could be filled with crap stuff like mats and evoliths that are trash, and to become highly evaluated requires you to obtain different "key items" to "rank up your standing" while obtaining WoE points "like einherjar" based on the time you put into the event "like Campaign/Besieged".

It may not even be based on actions. It could entirely be based on Win/Lose. Instead of the "boss" mobs just dropping loot it gets put into a casket. Then your "Bounty benefiting your standing" can be purchased off of an NPC for a certain amount of points (lets call them re-verb points cuz echos and re-verbs are neat...) so for 10K re-verbs you can get a ring that gives you +6MND. Even better loot can drop off higher tier monsters as you "rank up".

As far as the "Open Zone" thing. I don't think it will be an "Open Zone" in the literal sense, I imagine they mean it is going to be based on a dynamic instance, as in a zone will be available if you want to do the event. Event scales on the number of member you bring to the combat zone.

Thinking maybe some hybrid of Garrison/Einherjar/Nyzul/Campaign that would be my guess
