Sorry, but how is this topic about FFXIV and WoW?

New story, new zones, new content. That's what I expect out of an expansion.

There would obviously be new systems as well. I think the only way they can really draw renewed interest out of players is of the new expansion takes place in the Far East. They have teased it too much for too long.

The above I agree with whole heartedly. I also would not mind if we saw more of the Aht Urhgan, however, I guess the far East would be part of the same continent. Haha... I just want to see the homelands of the races. Because they all hailed from somewhere else. Show us where SE. Please!

            Because of "PS2 limitations"?

They never really said that no male Mithra, was because of limitations, but they sure did use that excuse for a whole bunch of other crap lol

Wings of the Goddess would like a word with you.

                Because of "PS2 limitations"?
                Simple balance

Male - Elvaan, Hume, Taru Taru, Galka
Female - Elvaan, Hume, Taru Taru, Mithra

I just want to see the homelands of the races. Because they all hailed from somewhere else. Show us where SE.
Then why do you want to see the Far East?

                Galka - Kuzotz
Mithra - Lands to the South - Olzhirya
Taru Taru - Wandered the middle lands before settling in Windurst
                Elvaan - North Quan
                Hume - South Quan

The 5 races went from there to the remaining areas of the world.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

wtf are you talking about? Its not PS2 limitations, its because the devs didn't want to make a male mithra version available. Also because of balance like Mhurron said. Mithras are also FFXI's version of Amzonians.

Thats only during cutscenes. Not NPCs that you can actually talk to.

Actually, the Elvaan hail from Aldiaine, suspected to be in a far western continent (see bottom of linked page, note two). This was/is their homeland before emigrating to Quon.

True. Actually WOTG, a lot of the Campaign NPC are immgrants here to help with the War including a knight from the Elvaan homeland and a Mithra Beastmaster and Lekho from the Mithra Homeland, shows that there are still thriving civilizations in all of the homelands so I'm sure if SE wanted to we'd see them. It would be nice to get a final expansion showing at least one of the areas hinted at.

If you want to see male mithra, just ask SE for a sex change. I doubt anyone beside those "i want to be #1" would play a male mithra...

From what Tenzen tells you during CoP there's certainly plot to be had in the Far East so my money is on that for the next expansion.

Interesting, anyone else see this from Pet Food Alpha?

Secondly comes information from the website for the event hinting that FFXIV will be a topic of discussion. There will also be a concert which is more than likely another appearance by the Star Onions.

Another interesting note is tickets for the event in Tokyo at the end of next month. There will be 1,114 tickets available. Take a close look at that number. 11 and 14. FFXI and FFXIV? Tickets for the event are free of charge. The hard part is getting into the lottery for a ticket that Square Enix has for the event. Only those with Japanese Square Enix account (linked to a POL ID) that have been playing since December of 2008 will be eligible for access.

Special thanks to Corinth for the information!
Some interesting info in here, especially the part of this event having info about FFXIV as well, plus the 1,114 tickets speculation that that may be the release date for FFXIV is something to think about. I still would like to think that FFXIV beta won't start until after FFXIII releases so that would put the 6-month closed beta ending around Sept/Oct, and SE has commented they'd like to have an OB too, and that could last a few weeks to a month, but hopefully less, which would place the speculated release date of Nov 14th as quite possible.

Well, that must be what their "major announcement" or w/e is all about. With any luck maybe they'll finally give us a solid release date.
