Re: Sunbreeze Festival Special Event: Fantastic Fraulein Mumor 2 Superheroine Stage S

Since when is there *officially* a lineage of Links? For instance, there's absolutely no indication that Windwaker's Link is descended from any of the others.

As for Zelda, if the backstory for Zelda II is to be taken as canon, it's tradition to name every girl born into the royal family Zelda, to remember the tragedy of the original Zelda, whom was put to sleep forever by a wizard. It's unlikely that she had a child before being put to sleep, so the Zelda in Zelda 1 probably wasn't her descendant.

As for the Gerudo, I kinda always assumed they just slipped into town at night and either seduced or raped men to keep the tribe going. If a Gerudo man is born only every 100 years (a mechanism that surely must be rooted in magic), then for the previous Gerudo male to father the next, he would have to live to be 100 and still be fertile. Not gonna happen!

As for Pokemon, I assume they do eat some of them. Although fire types don't necessarily have to feed off grass types specifically. There's plenty of really shitty Pokemon that wouldn't be able to hold their own against an equal-level fire type. E.g. starter birds, starter bugs, starter rodents...

EDIT: Forgot to address Chansey. Just because they're eggs it doesn't mean they're fertilized. You know, like chicken eggs. They'll lay them regardless.

EDIT2: In all fairness it's mainly Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess Link that are gay. But then again those two are generally what you think of when someone says "Link."

See, this is exactly why fictional worlds need to be fleshed out.

Sure, it's all fun and games when the Enterprise only has one toilet, but then Bowser goes and has kids without any clear mother, and things just get all sorts of fucked up.

Maybe they're eggs. Maybe. But whose eggs are they?

Doesn't exactly explain how they pass on the Triforce of Wisdom and Courage from Zelda to Zelda and Link to Link, though.

Setting it aside for a moment, there is a continuity at play.

The Original Legend of Zelda and Zelda II feature the same Link. He's considered the "Hero of the Triforce" since that was the original link.

The Link of LTTP preceded that Link by 100 years. He was called the "Hero of the Master Sword" since that was one of the crucial plot elements of the game. He got a second adventure in the GB game, "Link's Awakening."

Which brings us to Ocarina of Time, another hundred years in the past. This is where it all begins, the origins of Ganon and the Triforce are revealed. We know the Link of this game as "The Hero of Time" and that he was later featured in Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

Where Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass and Minish Cap land in the continuity is unknown. Minish Cap falls into the Four Swords line of Zelda games, too, in which Link is the "Hero of the Four Sword." Waker/Hourglass Link is the "Hero of Winds." Miyamoto has already stated that Spirit Tracks Link isn't Wind Waker Link and its a different age and a different land.

We know Phantom Hourglass is a direct sequel to Wind Waker, but we also know that Link donned the green outfit based on a hero of legend because it was his birthday and it was a sort of coming of age thing. He might not be connected at all, but he has the Triforce of Courage. How'd he get it?

If a Triforce and choose its bearer, how come the Triforce of Power never leaves Ganondorf's possession? I think it would have to be a lineage thing, because if it just chose its bearer, Ganon would have lost it long ago.

Could be that the triforce chooses whoever it thinks best fulfills its role. Triforce of power stays with Ganon until someone comes along to kick his ass. Triforce of courage sticks with Link until... you know what, fuck it, nobody is brave around a redead.

The Triforce can be like midichlorians. They're just fucking there and screw everything up.

                /thread wasn't geeky enough.

ok so far we've managed to work in:

                  Anime (Sailor Moon)
Retro video games (Mario, Zelda); and trying to logically explain them.
                  Current video games (Mario, Zelda)
                  Rule 34 (Everything)
                  Star Wars

My checklist says that in order for this thread to be truly geeky, we still need to work in:

                  Microsoft
                  *Nix
                  Graphics cards
                  Image songs
Shipping (between characters with no preexisting romantic links)
                  Crossovers
                  Piracy
                  Puns
                  Star Trek

Come on guys, let's get on this.

Feba, you missed Pokemon' and Soul Caliber, as they were also mentioned. Oh, and Star Trek was mentioned (1 toilet reference). Btw, I would just like to say that I would like to see Mario and Link do a crossover Smashbros game for the Microsoft Xbox 360/Xbox Live download. The graphics on it are soo much better than the Game Cube or N64. Good luck finishing it up...

He might not be connected at all, but he has the Triforce of Courage. How'd he get it?
                      Windwaker spoilars
So it's possible to physically obtain a piece of the Triforce. Also, wasn't the Triforce in OoT actually IN the Temple of Time? Wasn't that the pivotal plot point, that Ganon was simply waiting for you to open the temple up and snatch the Triforce, crowning himself King of the Power Levels? But he couldn't get all of it and the Triforce split, with Link (who was already in the temple) getting Courage and Zelda getting Wisdom.

Also, according to the Zelda 2 instruction booklet's backstory, the King of Hyrule brought prosperity using the entire Triforce. When he passed away, his son could only inherit a part of it. So it would appear the host needs to be adequate for the Triforce piece.

Fuck I haven't heard the term "Shipping" (with this usage, of course) in at least ten years. Holy shit. Reminds me when the interwebs were still fairly new and I was browsing all the X-Files websites and subscribing to all related message groups.

A mod really needs to split this thread.

                          I mean there's always some derailing going on, but this is kinda too much. <_<;

Does reposting that pic of Mumor and Lion in the kiddy pool full of mashed potatoes count as shipping?

                                p.s. That pic was awesome.

p.p.s. Isn't it technically shipping when people were discussing who Mario and Link would want to get it on with?
