@ YM: Thanks b/c I don't have that CD loaded on my work computer and I was able to listen to some DF at work, lol.

Update gripes: Something that is kind of being left out of the bitching is that S-E is giving everyone a reason to go nuts on meriting...which is going to be absolute hell if they don't add a few new merit camps. Campaign will help but Colibri camps are going to be a nightmare.

Gawd that's true ... might want to cap out what I have now then before they fill up, then just when I feel like I'm no longer gimp, the update can come up and I can be gimp all over again!

      I hate meriting. /yay for sky/sea farming.

I totally have some comment about sitting in Whitegate while RDMs get all the invites to heal only being an A- skill...or possibly 'running out to BFE to Raise III someone'...but I'm bleeding from the mouth and can't drink coffee and far too tired to make a good one.

Why should he get resisted but OtherRDM can get it to stick?) I think RDM is really pretty much perfect the way it is.
I don't think I have a gimped Enfeebling set by any means, I have 317 skill, and am pretty much missing 4 items, Chapeau/Seraweels/Altruistic/Bracelets...while I don't think that an unmerited, ungeared RDM should be able to stick things easily on Sky gods and HNMs and such, I think 340+ skill almost being a pre-requisite to just landing something like Paralyze on Byakko and whatnot is a tad bullshit, especially compared to other skills. A BLM with 320~ skill has almost no issues landing unresisted nukes on the same mobs, if a melee somehow hit 320~ skill they'd almost not need food for anything under level 85, so me not being able to land basic debuffs with similar skill is pretty retarded.

That said, I do agree and I wouldn't trade the things that I can do on RDM for the abilities of any other job if I had to choose just one, not a chance.

Both RDM and MNK have it really good, they could keep going on without, but if MNK is getting an update, again, how far behind could RDM really be?

And if you want to get technical, we could talk about nifty doo-dads other jobs are getting to collect while some ToA/WotG jobs still don't have sky abjurations/salvage/AF2/AF1+1 gear to call thier own.

Really, RDMs can cry me a goddamn river.

I hold no animosity to Monk itself, and am, in fact, glad that they are receiving some long-awaited attention, as well. I just wanted to make the point that after this update, Red Mage will have been the only job without one ever since the November fanfest, and coincidentally four-and-a-half years ago, as well. I had a checklist and everything a few pages back, and one that didn't care about the quality of updates received, either. It showed that the only jobs lacking the updates announced at fanfest since then were Monk, Red Mage, Paladin, and Bard. I know it's just me, but the fact that of those chosen Red Mage wasn't among them, it was just ever-so-slightly hurtful. Wah, I'm a selfish human Tarutaru being.

But, whatever, I'm just another one of those crazy meleeRDMs who do nothing about complain about what they want, and you all totally wouldn't act the same if it was your favorite job that got the same treatment ('kitten: Corsair has existed, and has also received quite a few personal updates within a relatively minor subset of these four-and-a-half years I keep bringing up, just for perspective).

Still, there's really nothing I can do except be patient. As 'kitten said (knocking on wood, though), a RDM-targeted update really can't be too far away, can it?

(Also @ 'kitten, it kind of annoys me as well that the newer jobs don't get the cool shiny armor, and it particularly peeves me that SCH can't use the Zenith set. I mean, "Galka Scholar in full Zenith and a Mortarboard" paints a much more vivid picture than "Galka Scholar with Astral Ring, Serket Ring, and lots and lots of Convert HP to MP gear . . . and a Mortarboard." )

You didn't get it, Dual Wield traits would remain exactly the same and do exactly the same they do now. The point was make a (Dual Wield -1) (as in att/acc penalty to the off-hand weapon) avaiable for anyone who can equip 1 handed weapons.

Jobs with native dual weild or with dual weild sub would remain exactly the same as they are now.

everyone having DW1 would be abit much, but there should atleast be 2 jobs that have DW traits even if one of them does not get the first one till 38

being able to go DNC/BLU and still Dualwield would be great

I wouldn't be magical though, I'm talking in the area of (knowing SE) something like 30-50% att/acc penalty for the off-hand weapon. The main purpose of it would probably be killing low lvl stuff or using +stat weapons (jobs like RNG) when your meleeing doesn't rely on the dmg dealt by your off-handed weapon.

Also the delay in the weapons would just be added without any delay reduction whatsoever, and maybe even actually increasing delay a bit because of the lack of the DW trait.

The delay would work very similar to trying to use H2H without Martial Arts.
