    • You buy a game called Final Fantasy.
    • You live in a European territory.
    • Most of your life, you've been getting Final Fantasy games long after JP and NA players.
So, should it come as any surprise that server maintenances happen on prime EU hours?

    Not really.

And I'll say the same thing I've told other players who whine about maintenances - there are other things you can be doing with your life and other games you can play in the meantime.

I really don't see the point in complaining, maintenances mean the game will run more smoothly and get more content.

Okay, never is a bit of a stretch seeing as it's only March.

The amazingly helpful S-E CS couldn't comment on if it was going to be released in the future but the general gist was, "Europe who?" last time I called in a moment of sugar-crazed weakness.

And Omgwtfwhitenoise, there's a difference between a once a month maintenance and the prolonged periods of assrapery S-E lavish on the Euros. When we pay a little more for significantly less you can bet we have a reason to complain. Had NA primetime been hit as significantly as we have this last month I'm sure even your normally devoted self would be choking on your Omgwtfwaffles.

        Actually, they have.

And as to the maint in EU times, meh, more time on FF12 uninterrupted. Midnight finish means I don't have to log on in DA. However, it is getting a bit annoying, and yes, we do pay more than the Americans - they made me transfer from $ to £ with new credit card, and I pay £2.50 a month more.

Actually you can download the Version up data now, Thats what im doing, but you still wont be able to online until AFTER the maintennance is complete.

I generally download during the maint, then just wait till it's doen then log on.

I have every reason to complain thank you very much.

And whoever wants to go all high and mighty on me can [insert random abuse] becuase if I PAY for a game like all the rest of the players regardless of location I expect to be treated the same as all these other players.

Not that I am as fussed about it as this post makes me look, but i just wanted to re-cover the moral standpoint.

And before you ask, yes if I were SE i would do the same. But Id at least reduce the monthly charge if I knew some were getting the shorter end of the stick all the time.

SE/POL are US based companies to an extent.

They always have done and always will do their maintenance during US business hours. It sucks, I agree, but it will most likely never change.

You are being treated the same as those other players. You aren't able to log in to FFXI from time A-time B.

Unless you propose SE bend the laws of time, and ignore the fact that this is when their maintenence crews almost always work, i'm not following you. You have to remember, SE is a company made up of people, and people have lives and families outside their jobs.

EDIT: Their maintenence times have more to do with letting JP players sleep than being in the middle of the day in NA.

Re: All Worlds Maintenance (Mar. 28)

JST for the maintenance would be 03:00 - 09:00 right? That seems a bit arbitrary. Who knows with SE though. Both could have bearing on it.

Your not being treated any different then anyone else you have the exact amount of access that anyone does, yes hong i know your just posting on the principal of it. They also had Maints during Jp Prime, i remeber about a year ago updates started at the end of jp prime a couple times.

Re: All Worlds Maintenance (Mar. 28)

The maintenance affects almost everyone, but despite SE wanting to treat people equally, their a business. If they see Japan is their biggest player base, US second, and EU the smallest, they'll do their best to not inconvenience JP while only slightly inconveniencing US since thats where the majority of their money comes from.

Honestly, although it sucks since FFXI is a worldwide game, it's only once a month at most. Wednesday is my big free day since I only have class from 5:30-9:00PM EST, and although I couldn't play alot before the maintenance, I do have projects I can start working on, a Calculus midterm to review for tommorrow. It's highly unlikely that you have NOTHING ELSE to do during a maintenance that happens every month and that you should be familiar with unless your new. Seriously.

I knew the majority would have to react and state over what I already have.

And while some people on here are so useful and helpful, on other topics they can be so... opposite?

Yes I know we all the the same access in terms of time. But when you consider that

                            *Brainwave*

I cant even be bothered to explain. Those of you that know where I'm coming from already know what I would of said, and those of you that dont seem to understand the principles of it can carry on doing your thing :p

PS this is not supposed to sound aggressive/defensive/whatever...but choose to read it and take it as you will.

Re: All Worlds Maintenance (Mar. 28)

There is no way to be fair to all Prime Times of all regions.

                              So SE does maintance when:
                              1. They have the staff to do it.
                              2. When it effects the least number of people.

If you had to chose to piss off 1 person or 500 people which would you chose?

But yea, it's unfair to EU players that thier prime time is generally interferred with maintance. The only truely fair solution would be to make all maintance 24 hours. That way everyone is effected the same no matter what. But then that would just irritate more people, and not really address any issues other than satisfying those who feel shafted.

                                That's crazy talk!

I hear NA players complain all the time about maintenance window being so JP-centric. I'm sure there are also JPs out there who are complaining about the timing of maintenance for one reason or another.
