I'm confused, the link headline said "Linkshell Community Maintenance Extension: Follow-up", but the news said server maintenance. But by the look of the time they extended from (Feb. 21, 2007 00:30 (PST) to Feb. 21, 2007 4:00 (PST)) is LS community maintenance time. Maybe there's a typo somewhere? (I think it's just LS community maintenance extension, but who know?)

So basically, the game is going to be up for, like, four hours for NAs in the evening. But business as usual on wednesday.

This is a time for all of us to get reacquainted with nature and the real world. Take a look out that window in the morning. See that green stuff? It's called "grass" and "trees!" Shave, take a shower, go out for lunch or dinner. See a movie, spend time with your kid, walk your dog, have sex with your wife, kick the neighbor's cat, go play in traffic. Read a book, play Sudoku, solve a Rubik's Cube, edit somone's wiki for no good reason. FFVI just got rereleased for GBA, go get it.

Anything. Just don't sit there drooling in front of the login screen, waiting to get back on. Your chocobo will still be there when the game is back up.

Oh, and screw Fafnir, don't be a tool and log in at Dragon's Aery. You know you don't need nothin' from him. Camp that NM known as breakfast, I hear it has a 100 precent drop rate of cereal, milk, orange juice, eggs or pancakes.

It turns out this is yet another mistranslation by SE.

On the JP site, it states the maintenance extension is for the Linkshell Community only.

The PlayOnline Viewer will still just be down for 10 hours.

I contacted

EU support via the web and within 3 minutes the admin their confirmed that it is just an extension to the LS maintenance. therefore for the quoted times for the main game and POL maintenance still stand as...

EST = 11am-9pm
CST = 10am-8pm
MST = 9am-7pm
PST = 8am - 6pm
JST = 1am-11am
EU = 4pm-2am.

(assuming it does not overrun)

I guess no job adjustments. Don't they usually have that last post right before maintenance giving you all the juicy update material, or do they usually post that during the maintenance.

The 'update' is in March.

Today's maintenance is completely unrelated. They're updating the POL server hardware today.

Okay, US PoL website news has been corrected, it's just LS community that will de down until the 21st, 4am PST. The server will just be down until the 20th, 6pm PST (for now, at least *cross fingers*).

Damnit! Now my wife is going out to hang with her friends and I could have had a full day of FFXI all to myself... but NO! SE had to change the maintenance date to one of my extremely rare occasions where a FFXI fest would have been possibel ; ;
