I'd just like to point out that NIN is still a tank. I don't know about you guys, but I'm happy that NINs tank (for crying out loud, it's about time a game made a ninja that wasn't just thief +1) and I don't want PLDs to be #1 all the time. I don't think it's fair to say "this just decided the winning end-game tank" because that would just mean S-E failed again. We want balance, not favorites.

DRK's are not the "embodiment of Death" they are tormentors with knowledge of some black arts. An alternate view of them is they are sort of like Warrior Vampires. If you want to go with the Vampire Lore the brute classes of vampires don't have teleport like abilities. It's also a conflict of synergy if a practioner of torment has skills that don't even relate to tormenting the opponent.

The PLD one is also a conflict from how SE seems to be taking the game. The PLD is a Divine Protector, so he wouldn't be as conserned about his own bodily wounds. He would be more conserned about others, looking at his spells that's pretty aparent. Since most his abilities and spells are focused to protecting others so adding that to protect himself is breaking synergy. Yeah, he has some resurrect and heal spells because to small part they are like penance for his failure to protect. It's not his main focus, his main focus is to avoid penance. Not guarenteed he can but avoid it as best he can.

Drks = ends justify the means. That is all. Not tormentors, not "Death"ers.

Plds = Holy Knights and anything that comes along with it. They have cure spells because they've been blessed by the light and therefor, can. I don't think it's safe to say that PLDs have cures and raise to make up for their failures. That's the last thing we need new PLDs thinking. To these ends, a Paladin protects himself. A Knight fights for his kingdom and for his God, and to protect those things that he holds dear, he protects himself. Armor and shields, for instance, fit a Paladin just as much as self-bolstering techniques.
