    Re: Upcoming Version Update (11/20/2006)

I think for a long time the Bst's have been asking for a way to choose what Sic we perform. The reason for this. is do to the fact that more times then not our pets love to use their AoE abilities. Thus aggroing everything near them..

Jug pets need a huge overhaul to its duration, strength, lvl, an cost/ way to obtain. Seriously why am i going to spend 250k for a sunwater to watch it go poof 10 minutes later.

      Re: Upcoming Version Update (11/20/2006)

I think sun water is intentionally in the same kind of category as dragon steak or the higher level shurikens: it's something that most people will only use for a few very special fights, because it's so expensive. It isn't, and isn't intended to be, practical for everyday use.

On the other hand, dragon steak lasts 3 hours if you don't die. For sun water's cost it should last *at least* an hour if it isn't killed, maybe 3.

I also agree with removing, or at least significantly relaxing, level caps from more jug pets, and making the ingredients for CoP jugs more common. I don't even play BST much and I'm bored as hell with seeing Carrie all the time. Also, if they are significantly weaker than a wild monster of the same level and family, that should be changed. Carrying items and paying for them, plus being unable to release them to heal themselves, is enough of a tradeoff for having no risk of charm breaking.

However, I'm not so sure about the controllable Sic thing. SMN and PUP have more control over their pets because the jobs themselves are quite weak without their pets (and even then, PUP can't exactly make their puppet WS on command); in addition, SMN pays MP for every ability its pets use. BST is actually closer to the DRG end of being a decent DD in its own right, if you gear for it; having even a semi-controlled pet actually puts them in the top ranks of DD against enemies that don't use a lot of AoE.

Given SE's change-one-thing-at-a-time style, I'd prefer to see the level caps and duration/availability of jugs changed first. It would be pretty simple to do and then they could observe for a couple months and see whether or not further changes were necessary.

        Re: Upcoming Version Update (11/20/2006)

Another thing id like them to seriously think about fixing is our "Leave" bug. So many more an more players are starting to complain about nm's an hnms stolen at low %'s.

If the new hate system is suppose to go from strongest to weakest. Then my attack, sic, ninjitsu, leave. An magical damage plus physical damage. The mob should not go yellow.

I'd give my right arm for affordable uncapped DD jugs...screw all other adjustments.

Reasonable repops on lottery spawn NM @.@; I almost fell asleep killing rams in the highlands.

And with that leave bug, I've noticed that too a few times, thankfully, no one i knew nor myself had any nm stolen from this, at least that i know of.

One thing I'm really really hoping they give us is an update to the Fellowship system to import to the ToAU areas @.@; or maybe a new ToAU only fellowship quest/system.

Ummm, heres something that randomly popped to me , a Charm Emptyness ability for bst in promy areas :X i mean, if its got a killer effect for it, shouldn't it be a mob you can call beast/charm for?
And blu spells for promy mobs~

                Version Update Highlights (11/22/2006)

And more info on the upcoming update.

                Link: http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics...37/detail.html

                ========================================

Many new features, as well as improvements to existing game mechanics, are planned for the upcoming version update. In today's Topics, we'd like to bring you a taste of what's in store.

                New Areas

Along with the introduction of a new battle system "Salvage," the previously restricted access to the Ruins of Alza'daal will be lifted, allowing players free reign to explore the entire region.
Also, several unreachable sections of both the Bhaflau Thickets and the Caedarva Mire will become accessible, and adventurers will be able to encounter the creatures that inhabit those locations.

                Mog Lockers

The maximum capacity for Mog Lockers will be increased to 70 items.

                New Quests

Several new quests, including a story that centers on Aht Urhgan's Serpent Generals, are planned for the upcoming version update.

                Experience Points in Besieged

The experience point reward in Besieged will become obtainable as limit points.

                Tu'Lia

After meeting certain requirements, it will become possible to travel directly to Tu'Lia from the Hall of Transference (found beneath the Crags of Holla, Dem, and Mea).

                Fellows

The Fellow system will be adjusted so that your fellow no longer disappears when you change areas.

*Fellows will still disappear if the area you enter is not an area in which fellows can normally be called.
                Feona - Leviathan Server - Bastok 10
                RDM75/BLU75/WHM58/etc.

                    Re: Upcoming Version Update (11/20/2006)

Meh, I'd still rather see quests to allow your fellow to enter sky, sea and TAU areas. Not to mention fellow genkai 4 and 5. But maybe those are coming too and just didn't make the announcement.

Bigger mog lockers and a faster way to get to sky are great news, though.

Mew, that too, but i doubt for sky just because of God fights.
Though being able to solo pots with my npc in sky would be a fun way to waste time as whm/nin XD
