Re: Gathering Completely Sucks Now
No. Just because you're legacy doesn't mean you're VIP. You need to pre-order the game like everyone else. That's starting to really grind me and it's going to be something I'm going to get mad at in-game Legacy Elitist. Not calling you one, just saying I keep seeing the word "Legacy" like it means something valuable.

Re: Gathering Completely Sucks Now
All legacy folks get EA automatically right? I haven't gotten any sort of update from SE though...

Re: Gathering Completely Sucks Now
No, I think gathering sucks because they had to dramatically slow it down due to the surplus of items i.e. since they let us keep all our shit from 1.0, coupled with the way things work now, they sadly had to slow it down dramatically when in P3 it was largely fine save for the GP recovery rate.
Now it's not only slow, but the GP skills are hardly worth using due to the reduced number of swings and should probably have their costs looked at again (AFAIK they didn't increase the EXP bonus on chains to compensate either). This also really, really sucks for the class quests that require you to gather 99 of X item as it literally takes twice as long now.
The crafting thing is just a nuisance/disappointment. I'm not about to drop crafting entirely over it, just feel as though what I got wasn't what was advertised/demanded.

Re: Gathering Completely Sucks Now
I don't use QS for levelling crafts because it is not worth it. For levelling I always go for a HQ attempt because the game gives you the HQ Bonus XP regardless of if you succeeded or not.
I have no idea if it is working as intended or not but it makes crafts ridiculously easy to level.

Also I'm thanking a random Mal post in the thread for giving me the chance to finally use those .gifs.

Re: Gathering Completely Sucks Now
I don't know about anyone else here, but I am never using the Quick Synthesis, but not for reasons Mal outlined. It's because I'm OCD about getting HQ. ;p

Mal,
SE has answered your question:
Hello,
After making calculations based on the items that all of you testers have gathered during the Alpha Test and Beta Test phases 1-3, there was a concern that there would be an excess supply of gathered items. As gathering is directly tied to the economy of the game, the development team decided to make adjustments to reduce the number of gathering attempts in order to stabilize the economy.

Re: Gathering Completely Sucks Now
You're saying that crafting and gathering completely sucks BECAUSE OF THE SEMANTICS OF THE NAME GIVEN TO THE AUTOMATED CRAFT FUNCTION?Originally posted by Malacite View PostAt the very least, if quick synthesis didn't have the exact same delay between attempts it'd be OK. As it stands, it's not "quick" at all, just automated.

Seriously though. That is why you think crafting sucks? It...just...

Where can I buy this? Filegar you want one too?Originally posted by Aeni View PostDid you read what I said? It's FUCKING RETARDED what you're asking for. It's equivalent of asking for a "I WIN" button. Not going to happen.
Have you forgotten the philosophy that drives MMO? Think about it for a minute and then get back to me when you're done.
Hint:
Any method that destroys time as a concept of balance in the game is an exploit. What you're advocating for is an officially sanctioned exploit. Yoshi-P has stated numerous times on what he thinks should happen in the game and what he thinks shouldn't happen in the game. You've trespassed the latter with what you're seeking for.
This is what you want the game to do for you:

If you don't like it, then don't use it and buy stuff off the market. It's an in-game mechanic that is to be used by people who need it. If you think you can go without it, then do so please. Don't make everyone else try to feel the weight of your frustration about a game mechanic that was already discussed by Yoshi-P himself. He spoke about, you used it, you didn't like it. Move on dude. That's all there is to it. Not trying to be mean.Originally posted by Malacite View PostThere was too, though it wasn't that potent.
It was for stuff like lumber, instead of making 1 log at a time, you'd bundle together 3 logs and use up 3 wind crystals simultaneously to make 3 lumber (could HQ for up to 12 lumber too).
