DIV LS?

Not sure if this was discussed yet, but were we planning on re-creating the DIV LS in ARR or are we all going to go our separate ways? I was just wondering out of curiousity. Of course, it all depends on how they will setup the servers (if they're fracturing the population down the lines of regions in order to promote "even distribution of latency", even if it's voluntary)

I'm not sure what I'm planning on doing. I have a couple of IRL friends who are interested in the game, but are not yet committed to playing it, so I can't say for sure. I know that Dux already has his own LS and I'm sure some of you in his timezone will want to partake in that (and you should, Dux had a successful LS in 1.0) The rest of us on the otherside of his pond or further away would probably want to plan out something else.

I got a few buddies IRL who are interested.

Regardless, I do want to be on a U.S.-based server (doubt there'll be one in Canada lol) over one in Japan, just to reduce latency.

If there were ever a Canadian server for a major MMO, I'd be a little surprised. I'd be interested in joining a DIV LS again though. I got stolen away by RL crap last time, and then that version of FFXIV exploded, so....

Sign me up if you can get it sorted out! :D

I was under the assumption we'd try and join the same server again. However, due to what happened last time, I suggest we aim for a server that isn't being targeted by the masses. I know we almost lost Mal last time.

Also, assume we're doing a 1.0 server and not a fresh start.

Yeah I'm going to remake my character into a male Miqo'te (they better let us rename lol or it'll be weird) and not making a new one altogether - no freaking way. I think Phase 1 is over now though (or should be over soon?) so maybe we can try and coordinate for Phase 2? Would be nice to actually test the content with friends.

I'm down to join you guys but I'll check my friend and see if he's still going to play the game. My other IRL friend just told me, "no", because he's going through a separation with his fiancee.

Hey guys. I've been lurking here on and off for years. I parted ways with FFXI a couple years ago (for good this time I swear ) and I am looking forward to FFXIV: ARR. None of my old FFXI friends are making the jump, and this community has always been a good one in the past - a greater proportion of reasonable posts versus the whining/bitching/trolling that infests other forums. All this is leading into the fact that I would like to join any/all of you that do end up on a server together when the next Beta phase starts.

Well, Phase 3 has been confirmed for early June. I don't think we've settled on a server yet but there's going to be even more people than in Phase 2 so it might be difficult to get everyone together on 1 server. Aeni and I will be starting in Limsa Lominsa btw ^^

Confirming that I will be a female Miqo'te in either Limsa Lominsa or Gridania in Phase 3. Played an Elezen for Phase 2 and enjoyed it but I just prefer the Miqo'te.

As for which server I will end up on... I'm leaning more towards where the Roleplayers plan to congregate or a server with a good sized EU population. That said I DO have some interest in a DiV LS so an actual DiVLS could sway my server choice too.

I'm not sure if the regional servers will be a thing or not in Phase 3, did Yoshi Confirm that at that event he was at? That's something to bear in mind - I'm going to be picking an NA server if at all possible.

I wasn't talking about regional servers. What I was talking about is finding a server where there's lots of people active in my time zone. Not much point in me joining a DiV LS if everyone is at work or in bed when I'm playing.

It is one of the reasons why I can never really get back into FFXI: having to wait until 2am my time for enough people to get online in order to get anything done just runs me completely into the ground after a couple of months. Plus /shouting at RMTs, Bazzar bots and AFK players until the early hours tends to get pretty boring after a while.

Since you're from the UK, maybe going with Dux might be a better idea, assuming he's going to run an LS at release. Even if I am living in the same country as Etra, we couldn't log on at the same time at all (or maybe I ran into him once or twice in 1.0) Even play times with Mal was sketchy and I think other than when Yyg formed DIV in 1.0 that first or second day, I never was online at the same time with more than a couple of players.

As for me, I will try to shoot for an active "west coast" server if such exists, but otherwise just a server with a good latency to Hawaii. I think I might get two of my IRL friends to join, but we'll see if their interests hasn't waned by the time the game comes out.

Phase 3 starts relatively soon. Anyone heard any further news on the servers yet? I'm planning on loading up Phase 3 as a Male Mi'Quote to try something new for a change (I've been a taru for 11 years). If I like it I like it... if I don't I don't.

Regardless, I would love to see a DiV LS come to fruition if it's reasonably possible... I'm just going to gracefully bow out of the "In charge of making it happen" position. Last time things blew up... and lets face it... aside from the D&D group, everything I touch turns to shit if I try to take an active role in organizing it. This time around I'll be a humble member only.
