Ah. I'll fiddle with the settings during beta to see what I like, but I'm pretty comfy in running it on high.

No need for Max anyway until I get a better PC & a monitor that actually supports 1080p. Well, this one DOES have an HDMI slot but the max res on it is 1680x1050.

You know what's odd was, after I did the above, I further boosted AF to med (from low) and got an even higher score ... and then I turned off Depth of Field and it went up even higher. By combining higher AF and disabling DoF, I got sharper visuals and a more realistic looking scenery. That's going to be the first thing I am submitting for the beta on day 1. I realize DoF was suppose to be taxing, but it shouldn't be taxing AND crappier.

I took the High Settings and disabled Ambient Occlusion to see how much of an impact it would have on the game. It surprised me to5 find out that ... it does little (well, admittedly, I did go from low to off) 4970 vs 5107, or about 130 points gained on performance. At that point, a net gain of 3% in performance for just disabling one graphical effect doesn't seem to be worth losing whatever quality (You know, I can't even tell) I might keep it off unless I start to find artifacts during beta, only because I don't see any difference in quality, and I see very little in performance increase.

I don't think I'm going to run the game on Max settings, only because I like to play the game, have the browser up in the background, and maybe be on Vent/Mumble ... my rig isn't capable of putting out killer graphics at an acceptable framerate, so I'll be content with "High" graphical settings (1600 x 900)

Sweet. My GPU is only a couple of years old so I don't have a reason for upgrading it ... just yet. SE worked magic because even on medium settings, the game still looked far better than some newer MMOs at higher settings (lol @ Rift)

Nope, SLI was such a drag. I'm running a GTX 670 at the moment. The processor and RAM are older, but stronk enough for the time being.

4132 on Maximum settings on 1920x1080. Here's to hoping there's an auction house.

Cause you hate Mondays? For me, all the days are equally the same, especially having to work EVERY DAY. (well not really, but close to it)

So I'm having a problem running it on High and maximum...

namely, it's not saving my score afterwards. WTF is going on?

    - - - Updated - - -

.... and now it's stopped working altogether, what the fuck.

    - - - Updated - - -

Update: I just re-wrote all the files by extracting the folder again and it worked fine. Scored 2658 "Fairly High" on Maximum at 1680x1050 Resolution (my monitor's max)

So, I can actually run it decently on maximum. Considering that, save for my GTX 465 and Power Source, the parts in my rig are from 2006~2007, that is damned impressive in my mind.
