For the record I'd be happy if SMN didn't appear at all this time around unless it worked more like GF Junction. In XI you have no idea how many times I wished Karaha Baruha had been the only one.

As for RDM pretty much what Mal said, the job makes more sense in XIV than it ever did in XI. And it will be awesome.

I'd be happy if they made them heavy 1-shot nukers with huge casting times like they did with Tactics and a few other games. Give them to us like spells and allow us to use them for huge costs with a wide range of abilities.

I doubt they will... but as long as they don't do the same thing as 11, I'll be happy to try something new regardless.

I think Mal means one-off AoE nonsense, rather than perpetuation. Yuna was really the first to deviate from that formula, IIRC.

No, if anything RDM needs to be in XIV more than it did in XI.

Reason being, your options are far, far wider than they were in XI. There are no bullshit skill caps and sub-job nonsense dictating what you can do. You are only limited by your gear, and what skills you select (barring restrictive skills). You don't have to worry about only having a C+ in nuking, or an E in dark magic etc etc.

And besides, HD Pimp Hat FTW!

I personally plan to spend the bulk of my time (once they are out) on Musketeer and Assassin, dabbling in Summoner here & there. I'm not as keen for SMN this time around because we've already been told it's basically going to have lesser-avatars as your pets thanks to Yoshi P's screwy vision for the Primals. Part of the fun of playing SMN is having access to the iconic summons and their godly strength. I would much prefer they try to keep SMN closer to how it was in the offline games, expending large amounts of MP in bursts for big effects. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to balance it out so that people can't just mass-SMN and abuse it as well as was the fear in XI.

Please don't start this. You'll attract all the wrong types of people. I'm THIS CLOSE to making the use of the word RDM a bannable offence.

Come on Cid... try it... I dare you.

RDM for jack of all trades

I agree.... but it's already pretty much there. The basic concept is at least.

If I'm a Thaum and I select all the curing and buffing abilities from various other classes, I can pretty much construct one. The same goes for Conj. In fact... I'm inclined to call Conj a RDM right off the bat. We get everything but enfeebles... at least not ones we can 100% control. Enfeeble effects seem to be added effects that proc randomly off offensive spells themselves.

Kinda hoping they leave RDM out of this one. I don't want to repeat the mess they made in XI.

I'm not sure if RDM will come about or not, but Fencer was previously confirmed in the database of classes (Bard was in there as well, but that's a job now so who knows - RDM could be a GLA/THM combo job)

    RDM will be awesome.

Or YoshiP will need to look for ninja assassins under his bed/tatami for the rest of his life.
