This usually happens when the lobby server is experiencing problems, instead of giving you an error it just crashes. Try again later.

Oh, are the servers under maintenance right now then? I keep getting a 13001 lobby has timed out or soemthing like that

Yes there is maintenance.

From 16:00 to 19:00 (GMT) on Sep. 7, 2010, we will be performing maintenance on FINAL FANTASY XIV. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XIV will be unavailable.

Oh thank god! I was driving myself insane thinking it was my computer's fault...also I just started it again for lols and its downloading an update.

Yes there is maintenance.

I hope they address my problems. I stopped being able to collect crystals/shards on my marauder. I went to check on this status icon that popped at the top of the screen (where your current status ailments are listed) and it was fully in Japanese (I never had time to translate it) I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the new limits in place because I'm fairly certain I have been getting a *lot* of exp in just a short time (over 4 days) with just one class (marauder) This means that in addition to getting reduced experience (I already noticed this penalty in effect) you also stop getting crystals/shards off monsters.

Now I'm starting to not like this restriction ... because farming is no longer a viable option in the absence of experience. And you need crystals/shards to craft ... which you would be doing when waiting for your experience restriction to reset.

I think there are thousands of people thinking this. I'm worried, very very worried. I just can't understand the reasoning of releasing a game that is so obviously not ready for retail. Keep it in development a couple more months, snag a larger audience with a more polished product, and reap the monetary benefits...what is so damn blasted hard to understand!?

We can always hope for that miracle patch that fixes everything like 2 days before retail. But I don't think that's ever happened before. :<

Because they're run so far over budget that they just want some income stream to justify continued development.

Client Crashes as soon as i start it

Anyone else have this issue? I probably need to update, or downgrade a driver or two, but I have no idea which one.
