Is it just me, or did anyone else see the hiragana/katakana for Bahamut in the recent FFXIV pics? (I think it was..) Didn't the pronounciation for it sound like how Gandolf said Balrog in LoTR? Just wondering...

So just because it's a post-WOW MMO that isn't also WOW, it's now automatically "Company's last game HD Remix."
I'm not sold on the game either, but come on, be a bit more fair than that. We know nothing to be in stone about the game itself any more than the presence of similar styles to be found within the game's artistic foundation (like the races; by your logic, this means Crono is Goku red-haired sword-wielding remix, even though that actually didn't come until much later) that may not even be alone, a much more in-depth battle system (and that an understatement), and Guildleves (a potentially advanced form of a WOW-esque attribute in and of itself; satisfied yet?!).
Absolutely everything else about the Alpha seen at Gamescom is very much subject to change, and it is also statistically unlikely for a large enough set of beta testers to all ignore any remaining "one-inch cliff" issue and not have it resolved, for example.
