    Haste...the other Enhancing spell~

    Definitely agree w/Icemage on that.

Well, we finally got things working in order it seems. As well as all my EQ upgraded to level(I must say I am quite happy w/the end result, I'll go into that in a moment though). After showing them exactly how much mana is burned up every 2-3 fights keeping everyone happy, then showing them how much is burnt up Hasting only those who really need it, they came around to understand my pov. So from here on its going to be working out for us.

    PAL- Haste/Regen
    DRK- Haste/Regen
MNK- Regen (cast on prior to pulls)
THF- Regen (cast on before pulls)

IMO, the Regen cast on all of them will more than make up for it in the long run^^.

*Please give me some advice/constructive critisim on my current equipment which Im gonna post in a new Topic as not to Hijack this one, thx.*

DO NOT cast it on the heavy delay dudes, dosen't make a difference at all.
Your joking, right? With both my WAR (used Great Axe) and DRG, I noticed a big difference in how fast I gain TP with haste on.

I see haste as a purpose for the meele to get TP fast. In my party with a THF and BLM, our distortion SC is critical for big damage. Getting SC's off as much as possible is a good thing. Now if the BLM didn't run our of MP so quick...

Personally i was rather curious of how much of a difference haste actually does, so i did some testing
Using a Muskateer's Pole, I counted how many attackes were made within the span of 60 secs, starting with the first swing.
        10 attacks were made
        Cast haste
After 60 secs, 11 attacks were made

Haste ~=~ 10% increase in attack speed or so.

        ***edit note***
I havent tried yet with spell delays, but I'm guessing it would probably be the same.

Please, as a DRK let me share my experience with you.

If you want to spend more time healing the Tank cause you think that my 90 dmg per swing is going to pull hate ( lvl 3 stuff), then don't haste me. This will become more apparant when lvl 3's come into play and the DRK is lagging behind cause you hasted the thf (bleh, no lvl 3 with thf, just vorpal/power > dancing edge) or rng (even though haste doesn't affect ranged attacks, like a rng doesn't gain tp fast enough already) and didn't haste the drk cause of hate issues, wtf? It's either the PLD is nub or the DRK is a high lvl SOULEATERWTFPWNT nub, which I doubt, since most of the elvaan souleater spamming at the start of the battle drks are filtered out in their 40's.

DRK's have TP building issues, please haste them when they're involved in a skillchain -- it'll make things much easier.

There is something really wrong with PLDs then if they can't hold hate against a hasted drk. Then again, I've seen PLDs die cause they held hate so well as low as lvl 40 (Souleater, WB, Last Resort, Voke, none of it could get it off of them ), then again, as high as level 60's I've pulled hate from PLDs when something as simple as double attack kicked in.

If a drk is pulling hate with war sub without souleater/last resort up, get a better tank and haste the drk, please!

FYI: Just one missed hit for a drk will be the difference between saving a skillchain with lvl 3 renkei and actually doing it. It takes more MP to heal a tank on a tp accumulation round cause the drk was neglected.

I got in this "debate" alot with my friends .

Pretty much haste is mostly useful for making melees getting tp faster. The extra normal daamge from it dosen't seem to warrent the 40 MP cost, but the extra speed you can do a reneki with does. Weapon skills solo aren't that great, but reneki/skill chains are, espcially since you can magic burst

So I'll haste whoever is in the reneki and who ever is getting tp slowest. From my experances I go in this order usualy (though I can change it)

DRKs- They always seem to be the slowest, and miss alot x_x. Also they deal high damage so at the very least that makes up for it

THF- People seem to say this is a bad idea... but I still do it anyway . Usualy THFs don't get tp that fast cause there daggers tp/delay ration is horrible (Acording to my roomate hehe, and he has triple attack :D ). Plus thfs seem to do the most damage in renkies with sneak + trick >.>

WAR- Dunno why but they seem to do better than DRKs and THFs for tp.... but still pretty slow, so I toss it on them next

DRG- DRGs have acc up bounses and they get jump moves to help them get TP faster than the other 3 melees. Usauly at this point when I'm casting haste it's not to help them catch up, but to speed up the renkei

MNK- MNKs are tp machines from what I see. They usualy get ahead of the other melees

RNG- I heard Haste dosen't affect ranged attacks... plus the fact rangers get TP so ungodly fast *_* makes them one of the last people I like to haste

SAM- Sorry guys ; ; But you guys get TP so fast (obviously ), I would haste SAMs last

            Other Instantces:
PLD- Usualy never need to haste them (If they have a thf and they need haste to hold hate they are a bad tank IMO)
NIN- Usualy haste them first because it lowers Blink recast times. Atleast that's what they tell me
THF- If he/she isn't in the reneki but dosen't build 100% tp at the start of the battle for fuidama (I hope I spelled that right x_x) I'll haste the thf so they can hit it at the start doing 400-500 rather than 200-300. It's great casting curaga 2 in battle and not getting hate :D

So that's just my imput... feel free to laugh at me (Please don't I might cry ; ; ) or comment hehe...

Haste order takes a while to get a good feel for, and it changes as you level, as well.

I nearly always party with the same tank, a PLD..I've never hasted him, its never been an issue. Paladins are low priority in my hasting order - if your paladin can't keep hate without being hasted, you have bigger issues than this one spell.

On the rare occasion I party with a ninja, they're -always- first in the hasting order. Haste the ninja above everyone else in your party - its a crucial part in keeping hate for them.

As far as the melees, I generally haste in this order: Melees participating in the skillchain get priority, of course. High delay 2 handed weapons get hasted first. -Always- haste your DRKs! They gain TP at one of the slowest rates out of all the melee classes - again, if something as simple as haste is causing hate issues in your party, then your DRK either needs to tone it down, or the tank needs to step up.

I generally haste DRGs and WARs next - generally if a 2 handed weapon is involved, you're going to want to try to keep haste on the player. Next MNKs, then SAMs due to the sheer ease that they can gain TP. If I find someone is lagging behind the other melees in TP, I'll try to push them up in priority.

Hasting THFs and RNGs..is an absolute waste of 40 MP. Don't do it. Just don't. Haste doesnt affect ranged attacks, and you will more than often find the rest of the melees struggling to keep up with the TP of the THFs and RNGs. Do -not- haste them.

                  Intresting thread

Honest I keep seeing people saying thfs get tp really fast and usauly other melees wait for us.... but yet I'm usualy behind other meleers. I have all the high ACC and DEX stuff I can get so it's not the gear... maybe I'm just unlucky >_> but as it was said before the delay/tp rate daggers have is crappy

However when I play ranger, I DO get TP insane faster (maybe faster than SAMs O_o)

the hast order shouldn't solely be about tp gain... the spell is
14-15% haste combine that with the 8% i get from brown belt, and the 3% i get from fuma kyahan, i'm attacking almost 26% faster....

that is 26% more damage, 26% more tp... and as someone mentioned 60+ it becomes about how fast you can kill....

but then again at this lvl the rdm and whm can haste... meaning 4 ppl generally get hasted every fight, whm generally casting on 1 melee, and the tank, while the rdm generally casts on himself, and the other melee

at this lvl it's kinda annoying to have to ask for haste, i generally don't have to but sometimes you get the mage that won't cast it... i mean don't you want your lead melee doing 15% more damage?
