    Thanks

    1) Basic Cure macros
    /ma "Cure" <p1>
    /ma "Cure" <p2>
    /ma "Cure" <p3>
    /ma "Cure" <p4>
    /ma "Cure" <p5>

    2) Divine Seal + Curaga Macro
    /ja "Divine Seal" <me>
    /wait 2
    /ma "Curaga" <p1> (or whoever)

    3) Bendiction Macro (Use with caution)
    /ja "Benediction" <me>

    4) Cast Slow on the current monster (or closest monster if agrod by lots of monsters at once. be careful)
    /ma "Slow" <bt>

    5) Increase resistance to stoen attacks
/ma "Barstonra" <me> (For Maze Makers)
    /ma "Barfira" <me> (For Goblins)
    /ma "Barwatera" <me> (For Pugils / Crabs)

    6) Casts Pritect on everybody in team
    /ma "Protectra" <me>

    7) Use a weapon skill called Seraph Strike
    /ws "Seraph Strike" <bt>

That should give u enough information to make what ever macro you want for th next few levels

For Cure macros, I suggest learning how to use <t> and targeting your PT members with the F1-F6 keys. Using <p1> and the like is excess macro space, imo. However, if you have no problem with switching macro pages/sets then go ahead.

Alot of mages also use <stpc> for targeting players, and <stnpc> for mobs. More safe I guess, if you are worried about accidently targeting something else or want to prep a spell in advance.

Try either ways till you find one that you are comfortable with. ()

until recently i did a macro setup much like ming's. Actually the same. But now i have altered my macros some now that i never cast cure 1 (used to cast it when cure 2 wasn't really needed).

        i now have 2 cure 2 macros...

        1. /ma "Cure II" <t> (this is for healing of general party members.. by this i mean not the tank)

        2. /ma "Cure II" "Tank's Name"

i found this really simple to use and it lets me skill up my club skill since i no longer have to be disengaged to target the tank. But i suggest only do the melee and cure main tank thing when the mob has no damaging AoE like gobbies do, and when you have a tank that can keep hate (incase you have to cast emergency cures on other pt members). An example of a tank you can do this with is a taru PLD that can hold hate thru a +300 damage SATA by a meat mithkabob eating elf thf/nin

but i might try the <p1> etc type macros... maybe...

I'm a bit higher in level, and my macro layout spans 3 macro groups.

          Group 9
Row 1: Soloing heals, and self buffs all targeted to me, and <t>
Row 2: is Travel (For quick escapes and Teleports) and weapon skills and Thief abilities (when I use THF)

          Group 10
Row 1: Useful Bar Spells, Stoneskin, Blink,
Row 2: Hiding spells, Useful status na spells and Benediction

Group 1 (This one is up most of the time.)
Row 1: Monster Debuffs (All based on <bt>
Row 2: Cures (III, IV, aga I, aga II, Regen I,II), Haste

On all three rows slot 10 is always Divine Seal in Column 1, and Elemental Seal in Column 2

My BLM uses 1 , my Bard 1, Theif, Ninja and War have 1 each. And I have a generic one with low level heals for when I sub WHM with any of those.

          That's what works for me.

            Re: Macro Help

Well, being the noob that I am; I just found out how to use Marcos.
I wish I would have known how to use Marcos, it would have made things a lot easier.

Try being the only Mage in a lvl 40 pt without using Marcos.... ><
            I was Main {and only} Nuke/Healer/and Enfeeb....
Plus throwing Refresh on myself, and the the COR/WHM O.O!!!

But anyway, I've always used my F1-F6 keys.
Normally I'd have my fingers already on F1-F4 and use my right hand free to move around.
It works, it takes time to get used to it; but once you get a hold if its cool....

            ....

Oh btw..im new to this site...and I was wondering how you post something.....????.....

                Re: Macro Help

I use <stpc> for parties with the cure and this <t> for the target

I think the <bt> will hit the nearest mob and that could be fatal fighting around mandy's at the Tree or Sand Lizards in the Tunnel.

                /ma "Cure" <stpc>
                /ma "Haste" <stpc>
                /ma "Erase" <stpc>
                /ma "Dia II" <t>

                /p gather together/ Protectra/ III and Shellra/ III<call>
                /wait 3
                /ma "Protecta III" <me>
                /wait 9
                /ma "Shellra III" <me>

No, it's "battle target," so it only works on mobs your party has claimed. The problem is that it's hard to predict which one it's going to hit if your party has claimed multiple mobs (e.g., if your puller gets a link and someone sleeps it, or if someone accidentally casts a -ga spell too close to another mob). I'm pretty sure it's the last mob someone did something other than auto-attack to, but that means <bt> is going to bounce back and forth if the link needs re-slept or if someone provokes it (as they should) or enfeebles it with other spells.

                      Thanks for that info Ellipses!

That happened to me a while back and I changed that back to <t> fast as hell!

I prefer <stpc> and <stnpc> almost exclusively. It's a very rare occasion where I'd have something else.

The only two macros I have that are NOT either stpc or stnpc are for Stoneskin and Ice Spikes.

                          *Note*

I do not believe there is any situation where a whitemage should need to macro Benediction, or even any situation where a whitemage SHOULD macro Benediction.

That being said, if you want to give Big Ben a macro slot, by all means do so, you may just save some people some EXP with it.

(by the way, someone send me a PM explaining the coding for the clickable expandy arrows please?)

There is a full enumeration of my macros in my journal, if people are interested to see what I've been using pretty sucessfully for the past 40 or 50 levels, only making minor changes as a few spells 'tier up'. I personally believe that, while not the BEST setup possible for a macro palette, it's a very effective one.

I don't even macro Stoneskin and Ice Spikes (although if I take RDM up further I will probably have Stoneskin and Phalanx macroed into my convert, and which point <me> will suit me just fine.)

Well currently I have a unified macro set for soloing/meleeing and party EXP.

Not to mention Stoneskin is just a useful thing to have around.

Pulled a little too much hate? Stoneskin FTW!

Caught agro in Bohoo Thickets? Stoneskin FTW!

BLM sleep on a link got resisted? Stoneskin + Flash FTW!

Emergency aggro from the husband? Stoneskin....err...scratch that last one.
