  • Holy Phial?

I've only seen this at the auction house, and for more gil than I can afford. Is this otherwise a quest item, or NM drop?

    Thanks for any help^^

I think the amount of time you spend gathering the gil together to buy Holy Phial off the AH < the time you spend farming for it in Beadeaux.

Or, that is just what I have heard from fellow White Mages, lol.

My THF/RNG friend and I spent nearly 3 hours waiting for it to spawn in Bedo, and gave up. I still think it has a 3-4 hour spawn rate, though. Its name is Ge'Dha Evileye. It spawns on the ground (not the ledge) in the SW corner of the map. There are several more NM spawns in the near vicinity, including one that drops the Mithran Scimitar (up on the ledge) that my friend and I just missed to a faster Jp player who was there.

          Very discouraging.......

The spawn rate of the NM evileye isn't too bad...maybe more like 1-3 hrs...I've killed it 5 times now and 3/5 times I have received the holy phial drop.

Killing old quadavs and garnet around the area isn't bad gil either... (I think killing all the quadavs on the ground level around it helps force the NM to spawn... it is a really limited area it spawns in anyways)

Gedha evileye is about a lvl 30 NM (whm type)
the zukhu blackcloud one on the ledge above that area is about a lvl 40 blm/zircon type (kill zircons to make him spawn)

            Good Luck

i believe you are correct. NMs have place holder mobs of the same type within their spawn areas. It makes the NM spawn faster when you kill its place holders.

I tried camping this NM with my THF, but I didnt even see it...
It's just 50k... unless you're very bored and farm while waiting for this NM, it isnt worth to camp it..

I just got lucky, found a BLM fighting it and he warped out to escape so I killed it. I didn't even realize he was fighting an NM until somebody in my small group attacked it. She was really nice and gave the holy phial to me.

The notorious monster is Ge'Dha Evileye. He spawns in Beadeaux around E-10/F-10, and you have to kill Old Quadavs to make him spawn. There is, however, another factor to his spawning. You have to kill Zo'Khu Blackcloud before he will spawn. That means you have to kill Zircons to get the second NM to spawn to get Ge'Dha to spawn. We killed him twice in a two hour period, and he dropped the Phial the second time. Then, he did not spawn for four hours, so we gave up. After hunting him, I realized you have to kill Zo'Khu to get him to spawn. My PLD gave me the phial because I have too much to buy already haha.
