Would have to double check, but if I recall correctly, pies are in the mid 40s and up in cooking skills.

Apple pie is 45? 46?
Melon pie is 60, etc.

So yeah, your cooking needs to be up there to be making intricate pastries and what not. :p What's nice is that my LS has been splitting up various crafting duties, so we have a couple people who've specialized in cooking--we get them the raw ingredients and they get us the cooked items...end cost for say, apple pies comes out to be like 120-140 ish gil.

Before crafting foods or having someone else craft them, check to make sure it's cost-effective. On Phoenix, for instance, the ingredients for a Roast Mushroom are worth more than the finished product (comparing AH prices). Two sleepshrooms go for 360-400 gil total, plus the fire crystal (100 gil or more) and rock salt... but a single Roast Mushroom sells for 300-400. So unless you or your LS members are looking to increase Cooking skill (which can work out great like Bakasan says), buying from bazaars or AH and selling any raw materials you happen to get may be a better deal, weird as that may seem. So check out the costs first. (But of course the economy on Phoenix server could be totally weird compared to yours!)
