I started off as a Mithra WHM, not quite sure why. Now I hear people only considering Hume, Tarutaru, or Elvaan. I was wondering how much worse a Mithra WHM would be compared to the others. I'm only level 8 right now, although it's taken all week (a few hours each day). Soloing as a whitemage is terrible!

I love being a mithra whm personally. The above average dex helps alot when soloing and melee damage is a good chunk of your damage output when soloing early on. I think WHM soloing is easier than when I was a thief.
Fill every empty slot you have with armor, even if its 1def - it helps!
Getting a 2hstaff like an ash pole is a huge upgrade over the starting club weapon and will do more damage than casting banish.
3 Mithra are better than 1...
