You'll get the same amount of EXP as everyone else in the party - you don't need to hit the monster. Healing a lot can also level up the power of your healing spells too, I think. Hope that helped!

      Fenrir obtained =D

If you're in a party with someone and the party kills the monster while all you do is heal, then yes, you'll get your share of the xp just like everyone else in the party.

If you heal someone who is not in your party, while they are in combat, you will not get any xp, though you can still easily draw hate from the monster anyway. This is a major problem for the would-be good samaritan who heals someone in a tough fight only to draw hate from a monster that is untargetable because it's in combat with someone else that is not in your party . . .

(well, you can target it, but you can't attack it)

If you really feel like helping someone out, try healing them between fights to reduce downtime.

Well, I've never considered it to be a "problem", let alone a "major" one. It's just one of those things that you take into account when you choose to save someone's a$$ (which, I might add, is always a v rewarding expereince). Usually, it means getting hit once for 0 damage by some rabbit or orc that's way outta its league when it takes you on. Once, however, I saved a friend from an irritated Water Elemental by casting Cure, and the Elemental turned its wrath on poor little me... I'm still waiting for a thank you on that one...

You cast yer cure, ya takes yer chances...

Heh well, I've saved a few people now, but I have gotten shellacked pretty badly by some orcs doing that. Mostly I've saved people from those "surprise" high-level orc fodders that would hit me for 14 damage instead of 4 . . .

I've found it's safer to save someone who isn't completely overwhelmed by the mob. It's also fun to hit everyone in sight with Protect. People seem to enjoy that.
