"Even an Elvaan" will have NO magic without a mage job. You would need any combination of one of these jobs:

White Mage
Black Mage
Red Mage
Dark Knight
Paladin
Bard (not really magic but songs are similar)
Ninja (not really traditional magic but Ninjitsu is good too)
