There is one weapon in particular than i've seen nearly every Mithra warrior use, a spear. Is there some specific reason for this or am I the only one that sees this alot?

WARs generally need to keep multiple weapons capped because of the need for skillchains, this is more evident at lower levels because of the lack of WS's available for each weapon.

The skillcaps themselves aren't actually very wide until after 30 (and the differences between + and - don't appear until after lvl 60) so multiple weapons are perfectly viable.

However, generally speaking and under most conditions Great axe, Axe, and Sword are all that are really needed.

Even with a c+ you won't see shield blocking kick in too often (even as a pld I didn't notice that I blocked any more often than I parried) so I prefer to use great axe when tanking. The only problem with using a 2 handed weapon is that missing hurts a lot more than with a fast one hander.

Still, I hold nothing against WARs that keep just great axe and axe capped, and with the large amount of sword using wars pre 30 I find a ga/a WAR to be a breath of fresh air. And war's with ( Great Axe ) / ( Axe ) or more in their search comment tend to get picked up a lot faster than ones without.

      Just one mans opinion.

So far, with the higher level wars I know, as well as my own (albeit limited) experience, keep both axe and great axe levelled. My own plan, following on some higher level friends experience, is to sub either nin or sam, with two axes for /nin and great axe for /sam. I also have dagger and sword levelled up absurdly high

Does anyone else consider these two combos a good, viable setup for a mithra war? All my general stats will be maxed out all the way up to the mid 50's anyways (evasion, parry, etc).

At the endgame, I had: Full AF for RDM, RNG and NIN. Sky, Clothcraft 97, smithing 45 and far too much gil. My Jobs ended at RDM 75, NIN 65, RNG 59, BLM 37, WAR 33 and SMN 26. Finally, I synthed a Royal Cloak /signed/ for a friend.

        Time to move on.

See you all on the flip side (*'-')/

Yeah, great. I myself keep G.Axe and Axe capped, Dual Wielding Axes of course. Hoever say, just to cap the level, I were to use a 1H Sword in my offhand, would my Axe level and my Sowrd level as well while Dual Wielding them, i.e Axe in one hand AND SwOrd in the other? I heard it might be useful to keep Sword capped for Spirits Within WS which is good versus NMs.
