WARs useful for high level HNM fights?

I'm thinking about my future as a WAR and am wondering if I'll be useful for those high level HNM fights, since WARs arent as specialized in either damage dealing as DRKs or in tanking as PLDs.

So are WARs actually useful and ideal in these fights? If so what is their role?
