  • Jewelry for a teenage WAR

So I just hit 10 and bought a pair of Opal Earrings (HP+2). I'm looking further down the list and nothing's really blowing me away.

Silver Earrings (Attack-1, Evasion+1) go for a lot in AH, and I can't figure out why. If you want the evasion for tanking, you're going to get more hits for 0 due to your lowered attack, and possibly lose hate on the mob. So why would someone wear these?

Bone Earrings (Attack+1, Evasion-1) seem like a good deal for someone in pure DPS mode, but they go really cheap, so what am I overlooking?

Do I care about either of these or should I just stick with my Opals until 20?

Rings seem a little more cut-and-dried. The San d'Orian Ring is good for a Warrior so I don't see swapping it out any time soon. The only thing I see doing is adding an Amethyst Ring (DEX+1) at level 14, because missing sucks. Should I consider an Amber (VIT+1) or Tourmaline (AGI+1) Ring for that slot when tanking?

The Silver Earrings are worth alot because you can dodge a good amount of attacks... but, a WAR shouldn't be wearing them, but, are extremely nice if you're a NIN.

Get the Attack+ Earrings. It'll help alot overall.

I wouldn't worry bout rings until lvl. 14, then try and get two Balance rings (about 24k gil for the pair)

I highly recommend Bone (and Beetle, at 21) Earrings +1.

Beetle Earrings+1 at level 21 give +3 attack, -2 evasion. They have a decent range on my server; I bought mine for 10k each.

If you are going through your first job stage only, I'd recommend going with the lower quality things first. Normal Beetle Earrings shouldn't be that much. I'm assuming 2-3k tops? Balance Rings (+2 dex), Stamina Rings (+2 vit), Courage Rings (+2 str) are high quality rings at lvl 14 that run for about 20-25k each. If you're only on your first/second job and do not have an advanced job unlocked or have not reached lvl 30 at least with one job, no one is expecting you to have any of these items. Hell, just buy the 1-3k priced lower quality rings. Sure, they give only +1 of those stats, but it's better than nothing. And it shows that you take care in some equipment and desire to perform your job well. Yeah, sure, people get impressed with HQ gear and stuff, but no one will frown on you if you're new or relatively low on funds and not have the BEST equipment. That happens at higher levels though. =(

Also, if you can afford jewelry/accessories, get those last. Majority of the time, updated armor is one of the key factors of respect. Mages can sometimes get away with it, but as a warrior, you should be almost always up to date with armor. (No dunes parties for you if they see that you're still wearing the default gear or even the lvl 1 store bought gear).

Im trying to keep up with my armor and weapons. I don't just wanna be another Warrior.

Close to level 17, when I get home and sign in. Im gonna buy my Lizard Armor set.

I have a Warrior's Belt +1 and 2 Balance Rings (Only one is equipped though, is Balance Ring > San d'Orian Ring??).

Not sure what else I should get at this level. I don't have a Cape Equipped, maybe I should pick one up. I have a Scale Gorget for Neck. Not sure if I should get something else there either.

Unfortunately, when people search for members, they automatically assume you as "just another warrior." At least half the time, you will be asked to join a party w/o the leader even seeing you. There are those times when someone looks at the group of people there, examines each one, then picks...but that doesn't always happen. Truth be told, all classes are "just another face in the crowd." Invite a mage, then find out that they don't have a certain spell...you hurt yourself by doing that. Most people don't ask about accessories. Picky people will mainly ask stuff like what weapon do you use and what armor set do you have. Before mid-level game, accessories are bonus.

But good job on doing your best to keep up to date. That also helps in your marketability. I don't know how you play, since I've seen you in a party group, but with the posts you've been asking and actually putting the time and effort for your gear, you sound like you are a solid warrior. Equip helps with reputation. Playability helps it the most. Just don't go off bragging at what you got. There's always someone who has gear that's equal to or better than yours. (Damn those lucky new players who get Leaping Lizzy. >.< If only I didn't have limited playing time, then I could actually camp NMs).

The Bastok Ring is better than the San d'Oria ring, It gives you DEX +1 VIT +1 and 3HP you already have your opal ring there and you save 2k plus DEX helps for hitting the mob so you save money there and plus VIT for taking hits very helpful for tanking. When you are tanking you can have Drone Eearings +1 You'll need AGI to dodge attacks and have Spike Earings for attacking as for the earings you can buy 1 DEX ring and 1 VIT ring and switch from what they want you to do. For attacking put the DEX rings and put your attack earings and eat food~ (Mith Kabobs... 2,300k a stack on my server). For Tanking just switch to your VIT ring and change to your AGI earings. Of crouse this helps if you have a Bastok Ring, you can get "Warriors Belt" that adds another 2 Vit and 5 HP .
