Nope it may be good for soloing but ideal sub jobs for Warrior are

    Samurai
    Ninja
    Monk

WHM or RDM are used for more soloing, RDM doesn't help much when your in a party and the only useful thing /rdm in a party is probaly the debuffs.

Warrior sub job with Thief is good you'll problay deal Satifactory damage compared to the other jobs they mainly use but Sneak attack and trick attack are good to have plus it doesn't hurt getting getting Teasure hunt for nice framing :p

As for THF/WAR it's a great combo thats all I really know  helps with str

Thf sub is good if you're in a dmg dealer role pre 60 because you can stack sneak with ws for more dmg and a bigger sc. Adding sneak and a shield break would ensure your ws will never miss also. Once i got a sneak + shield break for 220 dmg, but it got a double attack in it, still was pretty impressive.

Rdm is a ok sub below 30, since you can heal healing a bit but since you'll have a low amount of mp, it won't help much.

Some said that having blink/phalanx/stoneskin would help your tanking but you won't get all those till 60+ and those spells have long casting time and recast delay.

En spells will help you dmg a bit if you use a 1h weap otherwise adding 3-5 dmg to a 504 dly swing with a 2h axe is kinda worthless.

Rdm sub is good for solo with healing, but then i prefer to use whm with cure status spells. Good for exploring with 50/25 whm/rdm with sneak/invisible and this could probably make your af quest a tad easier for coffer hunting.

its my personal belife that if your going to sub a mage as a melee don't make it a redmage pre 32,

u will get better blackmage spells from a blackmage sub, and probably earlier (including blazespikes at lvl 20, which is the only feasible reason to do it gimped mana pool and such)

              from a whitemage u get cure2 at 22 as opposed to 28 w/ a rdm,
u get status cures, i remember how many times i hated my early levels, being poisoned, watching my health tick down wondering if iw as going to live or die. (of course i then started carrying antidotes) u get the same barresist buffs as a rdm only the group versions which have minor downfall of slighty longer casting time.

however at 32 rdmages get they're first enspell. WOOT!, wait no, i'm lieing, enspells damage is based upon your enhancing skill. not on a mobs resistances directly. granted if a mobis weak to (we'll use enthunder b/c its the first one) thunder (and for numbers sake your max en-damage is 6) chances of your enspell doing 6 will be higher, however u can still hit for 3's, or 4's. well hmm... thats not very good, but wait better stuff is coming. at lvl 40 u can get blazespikes!, SWEET! now when the mob hits you it takes damage to go w/ your awsome en spells.....wait.... once again the damage limit of the spikes spell is limited by your enh skill. which as a sub is gimped out.

so by the time your char hit 32, to make a redmage a passable sub, lets think of what else your missing by not subbing a real melee.

              Theif -
treasurehunter (oh how u thought u farmed before)
              sneakattack
evasion bonus, not being hit is good right?
Gilfinder. who doesn't love the $$
steal, whats mine is mine, and whats yours is mine.

              Monk -
boost at lvl 10, thats pretty okay.
Dodge at 15, 5 min reuse, 2 min duration, skill is good, + evasion awsome skill
counter attack, an extra miss for the badguy, not being hit is good right?
a max hp boost free hps, whats wrong w/ that?
martial arts2 i don't think by lvl 30+ u will be using h2h weapons, as sword+shield, or gaxe etc is better but hey, is there

thats just the basic jobs. now since your level 30 u can get adv jobs, more uberness. we'll take a quick glance at pal/dkn/goon/ranger/bard/sum

those 6 classes were meant to be played as main classes and mainclasses only. granted u could choose them as sub but other classes bring more. oh and bard/sum's should be subbing whm to increase they're efficency but thats another topic on another forum.

              so this leaves.....
              Ninja
Sweet i can be a badass ninja! lets break it down
stealth lvl 5, its liek craptacular sneak/invis only doesn't really work to well.
Dual weild, this is the skill everyone subs for b/c not only looking cool but is fairly effecnt, it works like monks martial arts in that it gives haste's the delay between attacks
resist bind..... meh, not that spectacualr
              ninjutsu
lvl9 u get an component invis wheee
lvl 12 your first utsusemi, whee for blinks! free misses are good....lvl 74/37 so u have both blinks is better.
lvl 15 u get the various elemental debuffs. they're like nukes that lower opposing resists nice... but nothing to write home about.

              Samurai
              5 u get warding circle + to party def vs demons..... i still havn't fought a demon......yeah.....
5, pasive resist blind...well missing is bad so....
10 storetp, one of the big sam ablities but it only gives u like 1% more tp per hit....nothing spectacular.
15 gets u third eye which is interesteing it makes one attack miss you, the next attack to be precise, on a good conection and low lag u can use this skill to dodge onehit weaponskills from mobs, nice to make those screwdrives miss eh? (never personally tested as to which ones can be avoided w/ third eye)

              (i omited beastmasters b/c they're a solo machine, not a party favor) wheee !

Got my subjob quest done last night (dont forget all the components in your mog safe, makes for a long run). At WAR18 I subbed RDM9. As a mithra i had just enough mp for 4 Cure I's... A whopping 36 mp. Cure is a good thing but i dont think i wanna sacrafice MNK or THF sub bonuses for 4 cures.

Before i had the subjob, I had plans to have a WAR/RDM powerhouse. I could cure, enfeeble, eventually en weaps and I would just rock the world of ffxi as we know it. Well, Ill just say that I was completely wrong. When people say to sub a melee with a melee and a mage with a mage, theres truth behind it.

Granted, any sub will improve a main but you gotta figure out whats gonna give most bang for your buck. Dont give up the static bonuses of mnk or thf for a few cures or feebles. This may change with increased levels but as for now, it is just such a small bonus that I'de feel kinda silly subbing a mage while im a tank in a pt.

Although I am going to check it out from time to time and havent tryed it with soloing yet. We'll see.
If this dont make your booty move, your booty must be dead!

                  if you're gonna solo, I'd recommend a WAR/WHM or RDM/WAR over WAR/RDM.

                  Thanks Yyg!
