Ah, my bad. I'd have to agree. War/Thf pre-30 only has Steal - which only helps yourself, not the PT. Tho I noticed Steal gets hate (come back with my wallet!)

Still, in pre-30 party, I'd wouldn't be nit-picky about a War/Thf as a backup voker. As long as the backup War/* is using berserk and a decent weapon, I'm happy enough. It can be hard to find a hi-quality PT at low lvls =/

War will suffer discrimation after 30 cause they aren't considered the "best" in their departement, kinda like rdm before 41 where players would look for whm or blm 1st and if they can't find any they will look for a rdm.

Your group want a tank, they look for pld, then nin and then war. You want a melee dmg dealer you look for drk, drg, sam, mnk and then maybe they'll think about war.

War will perform on par with most melee damager till 50, at that level berserk and double attack are both available when subbing war so you'll lose your edge a bit. Pld will also get defender at lvl 50 with war sub.

The advantage of wars after 30 is usually more weapon leveled, personnaly i use axe/great axe in pt, i'll use a spear if asked granted my spear skill is falling a bit behind now, where other melee damager will often use only 1 weapon, scythe for drk, great katana for sam, spear for drg and HtH for monks. Mnk and drg are limited on their weapon but sam can also use a spear with a B- in it. Drk can use great sword and great axe, how many drk have you seen weilding another weap than a scythe, i think i've grouped/saw(leveling in a group near me) with only 1 so far past level 30.

Leader : Nvm, got a pld we don't need another tank, we need dmg dealer now.
Me : I can be a dmg dealer using a 2h axe or spear with mithkabobs and using berserk.
Leader : Ok come over to garlaige.
