  • Endgame Warrior Equipment

    After seeing a level 71 Galka Warrior on Midgard the other day, I have been inspired to research this class as a main job. The Warrior I am talking about had a ton of +atk equipment and a few defensive pieces, like a +3 VIT ring. Is it optimal for a Warrior to go defense or offense, especially in the endgame? I would think all-out offense similar to a DRK setup would rule, since we can have Defender on all the time if we need to take less damage. Amend my list of endgame Warrior equipment to your own liking.

    Earrings: Assault Pierce and the BCNM one that adds +20% to ATK and is Warrior only.

    Rings: Maybe Sniper Rings. However, since WAR will be asked to tank occasionally, the vulnerability to Darkness magic here might hurt. Any ideas? You could also mix in a +3 VIT ring or even go 2x +3 VIT rings to add in a little defense to your gear.

    Neck: The San D'orian Conquest Collar is good, but I think Peacock Charm is better. It is OBVIOUSLY harder to get, but we're not talking about money here. At level 75 you should have plenty.

    Body: Hauberk +1. The armor is both kind to your defense with its high AC and VERY kind to offense with STR +5, DEX +5, ATK+10, ACC+10. The +1 might actually have better stats than this--I forget.

    Head: Tiger Helm? Forget the stats on it but it is very nice. I think it looks awkward with the rest of this equipment, though.

    Mantle: Behemoth Mantle is very nice. Toss-up between this and the rarer (I believe) Amemit's (dropped by AmemEt)

    Belt: Swordbelt gives +10 ATK, Lifebelt gives +10 Acc. Next to these, I probably wouldn't even consider the Mercenary Captain's. But between these 2, which is better?

    All the rest: "Thick" armor pieces would work the best here, I'd imagine.

    I'm pretty low level, since I took a 2 month hiatus, and I still consider myself a newbie. So feel free to take this list and rip it apart. I want to learn how to outfit a Warrior.

    Just had a thought. That ATK +20% BCNM item would practically negate the ATK-25% from Defender. You could keep Defender on permanently and basically have a free +25% Defense for tanking. I haven't seen anyone running around with this item, but several sites have it listed as a drop for BCNM70.

      it depends on what subjob you choose.
      for example : war/sam whati am ^^ when over 60 sam has some kind of tp rain ability which let you do tons of ws'es. So with that sub its fightingclass all the way so you will need lots of strengt, ac + , dex here.. But when war/nin war/mnk you may want to go for some more + vit items

      Edit : and o yeah, swordbelt or lifebelt.. choose lifebelt -> 1accuracy + = + 2 dex so + 20 dex 0_0
      Ridill + Adaman Hauberk :D

        From other thread past level 50 the war become more like a utility dmg dealer than a tank, leaving this role to pld and blink ninja. So at this point you need to focus a bit on acc and att equipment and you can neglect def a bit.

        When you want to tank you can replace a few pieces like rings, vit instead of dex.

        I think most high lvl melees will use a lifebelt, cause landing hits often is prefered to hard unconstitant blows.
        war 55 - drk 49 - whm 45 - blm 33 -nin 31 - rng 30 - Mnk 25 - sam 21 - thf 19
