Why do you do DRK's get better shields than us?

Look at this Heater Shield for example:

GREAT looking shield high defense... but wait!!! Look! It says PLD/DRK . Why? To me that makes no sense. If you go look at Dark Knights skill in shield the website I looked at said (-) I would assume that means nothing or crap. They also only have mediocre 1h wep skills (B- is best I think).

Did we get screwed here or something. Why cant the 2nd best armour/shield tank wear the best shields instead of an offense only class? :dead:

This should be changed I NEED that shield

Any comments or reasons why this is so, or is this just a typo in the system and DRK isn't supposed to be there?

Well, Paladin and Dark Knight are the "knight" classes in the game so it kind of makes sense for a Knight to carry a larger more powerful shield righty? I mean you wouldn't want to give a squire that big of a shield

Besides, most DRKs aren't going to be using shields. So, most of the time it's just PLDs :sweat:

Anyway, Warriors should have these shields, we have a good rating in shields but we share shields with red mages and whms. That is a such a joke :confused: . We have great ratings with 1h weapons and we are meant to take damage just like paladines.

If you ever see a DRK using a shield slap them.
PLD/DRK are polar opposites kinda like good / evil so for some reason they give them items they both can use, which is pretty dumb, but your a WAR shouldn't you be using a 2h Great Axe instead?

1h weapons are not "shitty" as you say for us warriors, our 1h axe is rated an A- and thats pretty good. DRK's don't deserve these shields, warriors do and I haven't read one post here that even remotely leads me to believe otherwise.

It's a Holy/Divine shield for WHMs only, same appearance, but different stats and price. On Rag it cost a f*cking 150 000 gil. Pfft..

Either it's a game bug (doubtful), you misread, or you're just trying to be disagreeable. Take a screenshot of your stat menu to support your claim that the following site has incorrect information. If what you say is correct, they will be happy to update the site.

Warrior has an a- in axe, an a+ in greataxe.

Not that you are or are anywhere near lv.75 yet, but you're skill will be:

Axe 264
Great Axe 275

Most melee jobs have an A+ and an A- weapon (ranger, beastmaster, and ninja don't have any A+ weapons, dragoon and sam don't have any a- weapons). which one you use to lv.61 matters not.

When it comes down to it, as a warrior you have to decide whether you're going to be an 'ok' tank or a 'good' damage dealer. if you want to tank, go with a shield and axe, if you want to be a damage dealer go with greataxe. there is little to no room to do both. if you want to do damage, you'll need to boost dex, str, accuracy, and attack. if you're boosting those things, you're taking up the spots that you'd be using to boost agi, vit, evasion, and defense. You can do a bit of balancing to even out the defense/attack role, but ultimately you can only really play one role at a time.

You can still tank efficiently while using great axe, the defense/blocks that shield gives won't make or break you as a tank. I kept both axe and great axe capped all the way to lvl 70 being main tank of a set PT. Lately I haven't been able to use great axe as much but it's because of renkei issues. Mistral Axe/Decimation > Shark Bite/Evisceration(lvl3 light effect) is just too good compared to anything great axe and dagger can do.

Obvious things that a WAR shouldn't do as a tank is use Berserk and Sniper Rings or other -Def gear. Use Fish Kabobs instead of Meat, Phalanx rings and pop Defender when needed. I've found that Defender should only be used for emergencies or near end of fights, otherwise your damage output will be too low and you will lose hate.

Tanking for WARs is a balance between atk and def since they rely on damage to hold hate. I mainly focus on def and acc gear. Acc is very important too because if you can't hit you're not gonna hold hate as a WAR. I don't give much importance to agi/evasion because you're almost always gonna get hit by high lvl monsters anyway. I would rather have something I can always rely on like acc/atk.
