Gear and sata help

I've got a couple of gear questions. I'm a lvl 53 Mithra thf, I've been using Royal Knight's belt for sata, I've seen and heard of a few people using Swordbelt +1, I wonder which is better and could you possibly explain why?
Next up is Black/Flora cotehardie. I have a Brig+1 right now, I'll be getting a SH soon, I was going to sell my Brig+1 and get a NQ Brig for sata until I saw the cotehardie. My question is while the STR, DEX and AGI from it are obviously great for sa + ta there is the -3 CHR, since I'll be using dancing edge at this lvl I want to know do the other stats outweigh the -3 CHR (is it even an issue?) or should I stick with Brig (or even another armour)?
I've got some questions about when I get lvl 60 too, with Assassin I know I should split up sata but after that I'm not exactly sure. I think I should ws with ta to put more hate on the tank, but can I ws with sa if I feels it's safe? which does more dmg? Also when I get Shark Bite and Evisceration, which ws should I use and with what? I'm thinking Shark Bite goes really well with sa because of the DEX modifier.

right now my solo ws dmg sucks, at higher lvls is it ever viable or a good idea for thfs to ws without sa or ta?
Does acc gear help land more hits of a multi hit ws?
When (if ever) is it a good idea to use acc gear over dmg gear when using a ws?

Not sure about what armor to use, but the -3 CHR is irrelevant since the modifier is a % of your CHR where as every point of DEX and AGI increase SATA potential.


As for splitting SATA, yes it increases your overall damage output. You CAN SA+WS and then TA a normal hit if you feel it's safe since SA tends to do more damage from what I've seen than TA. However, planting more hate on the tank means the rest of the DD's can go to town on the mob.

Shark Bite is like a supercharged Viper Bite, and it closes light if you're actually skill chaining. Most THF I've seen prefer DE or Evisceration though, especially if you have a good critical hit rate (merits, gear etc).


I seriously would not solo any WS w/o TA or SA unless you're soloing or it's critical that you get that WS (Or getting points for evisceration). Dagger WS will *always* blow without some kind of good ability behind it. And really, why would you want to WS without SA/TA anyway?

For multi-hit WS +acc comes first, dmg modifiers second. (unless there's a massive difference in the stats, such as +5 acc vs +7 or more STR/DEX/AGI) Use your own discretion. Your DE's and Eviscerations are going to suck regardless of all your +stats if you can't land more than 2-3 hits.

as far as +acc is concerned, i'd say go w/ SOME +acc for ws, but really balance it out w/ dex+str+agi, if you're gonna do like me and go for 8 dagger merits, then acc really won't be that big of a deal once you're 75. Really up to you, but i did prefer before using my o.hat over anything @ 75 til i got dagger merits.

Up to you what you want to do with weapon skills, I change depending on sub usually. For example, if you are /nin, use a SA WS and you can tank a bit with utsusemi. If /war I'd suggest using a TA WS, because if you are Berserked and do a SA WS for a lot of damage, the mob will turn around and kill you in about 5 seconds. Solo WS will be fine once you get DE, don't worry about that now. For acc with weapon skills, put some in depending on your tp returns. For /nin using DE you should get 13% (Right? I haven't subbed nin in a long time, I think it's 13%) and /war 9%. If you are getting like 7%, put some more acc in so you land a few more hits, or you could just use SB or something. DE is more powerful, but SB is more consistent.
