  • Good Subs for THF

why are there so mant THF/NIN? Is THF/WAR not good or something? I like WAR sub better for the damage output.

I would like your opinion's on the pros and cons between WAR and NIN for a subjob for THF.

    Thank You!

my thf isn't high but i use both, however most pts want me to use nin for utsusemi

i have yet to use /war with trick and viper so i want to try berserk fuidama vb

i think /war also gets better 50+with double attack and even better 70+ with warcry

Its all a matter of taste really. I plan to keep both leveled. I would prefer subbing /NIN because of the utility and the extra TP gain, but I've heard /WAR is the secret to really good damage at later levels. I think the reason many people like THF/NIN is just because its so hyped right now...people like because it's advanced job without even knowing the pros/cons. I've studied up on both subjobs and they seem quite even once you get to 50 on TP gain because of double attack with /WAR sub.

there are reasons that make /nin and /war good subjobs

/nin imho makes you a more well rounded thief with nice utility abilities (stealth, ninjitsus ect).

/war will will help you deal better damage with SATA. and i tried it with a THF/NIN in my pt and i was getting TP only 5% slower then her.

so it's really up to you and your playing style.both work great

The other topic is writen by an idiot.
Thf/nin is hype. People want it because they want to be a sneaky ninja running around cutting people's throats.
-thf/nin does NOT get TP faster than thf/war. Even if somehow they do, As a thf/war I get 100% with about 10s before I can SA/TA again.
-Just because you don't have uts on a pull, dosn't mean you are going to die. Unless you're pulling something fast, like a Raptor, I never get hit on pulls as thf/war. Maybe once or twice if i get a lag spike.
-thf/war does significantly more damage than thf/nin.
-thf/nin is better than thf/war for farming purposes, you can invis yourself, blinktank, and all that fun stuff. But in a party... You do damage, that is your job, not to be a tricky ninja. (Personally I use thf/whm for farming, It seems Energy Drain was custom made with this in mind )

For your original question, before everyone started flaming you about a useless post that got stickied...
"Why are there so many thf/nins?"
I think it's because they think Lust Dagger + Greed Scimitar is "Uber". If you can't see why it this is BAD... You don't understand how the in game mechanics work, and you're probbaly an idiot, so You can go right on playing thf/nin.
"Is thf/war not good or something?"
Thf/war is BETTER than thf/nin. Let's look at the thf/nin, they can blink to avoid death on pulls (So can thf/rdm, thf/whm *A smn in the pt can blink you too*) They get more TP (#1- Lie. #2- thf/sam?) .... But thf/nin is more balanced, so you should like it. I'd rather get a +Chr ring and a +Mnd ring than 2 Grace's... It's more balanced too!
If you like thf/war for the damage output, you are right. You're going to outdamage thf/nin's by about +30%.

Thf/war or thf/nin, it's up to you what you want to play and they have their strenghts and weaknesses, but come on, you should know what you're talking about before you call other people idiots.
