Fort Ghelsba Chests

Maybe I'm missing something here. The other night me and a friend stormed Fort Ghelsba in an attempt to get chest keys, which are supposedly gotten from Orcish Fighters, Cursemakers, and some other class I can't remember. Well we were there for like about 4 hours, killed about 12 of these orcs without a key.

Are these rare in Ghelsba, or am I fighting the wrong things? I was fighting the orcs than spawn in tents deep in the area about every 5-10mins. This seems weird because we were chest hunting in King Ranperre's the other night and got a total of 6 keys and 3 chests(more keys than we could hold at times).

Fighters, Cursemakers and Sarjeants drop the key. You are fighting the right mobs, but it is a rare drop. When I was looking for the Kazham keys it took me 4 hours to get my key.

Yeah I guess its just a pain because those damn things only spawn like one or two at a time. In King Ranperre's you can get keys from a bunch of different enemies, so I guess its just quicker. Thanks for the reply.

Mind you, when I did it I was WAR25/MNK12, so with Thief Treasure Hunter I it should speed things up a bit.

Just stick with it, you'll get it eventually.

Also, if you know any Thieves at 45+, ask them if they'll help you out. I would, but for the fact that I'm on Midgard. ; ;

I've helped a few people in my LS get keys for RSE and Kazham, etc., and they drop for me at an incredibly frequent rate. (Maybe I'm just lucky ^^)

you are in the wrong part of the map

for more orcs, go inside the tent, there's a back door that goes to yghott grotto on the way to the BCNM and holaris springs.

There are over a dozen cursemakes, fighters, and sergeants in that area. Key drop is very fast. Just be warned that they do link and the area is somewhat small. Low levels might get killed espically from sergeants since they can cure themselves and love to banisga. Repop time is like 10 to 15 minutes-ish.

You shouldn't go alone in Yughott Grutto, the monster at lvl 25 can con you Decent Prey so it's best to make a party that need the keys, I got mines from a Fighter.

I assume you're doing this for kazham keys. Each of the 3 noob dungeons (ghelsba, giddeus, palborough) have an area where the key-droppers spawn exclusively. You're wasting your time if you just fight the one or two that pops in the tent every 15 minutes.

Yeah, thanks for the help guys. Just so you know, I wasn't just rushing in there by myself . I had a level 25 WAR friend with me to help out and we didn't have any trouble taking out the orcs. Getting plenty of keys now too, although just recently found out the chest item really blows (Cougar Baghnakhs: 1000gil )
