Who makes more gil thf or bst

I was having a discussion with a friend about this deal who makes more money the thf or the bst and why?

it depends on your playing style completely

As a bst, you have the option of doing exp WHILE gil farming.

As a thf, you don't have this option.

If you dont care about getting exp, then thf will make more money in the shorter amount of time for straight up poping treasure and a bit from gil finder and a tincy little bit from mug.

Of course, this also means that you will need to spend time as a thf in no money lv up pts and lfg time.

In the end, I don't really think it matters. If you are doing bst just to make money from drops, that's not a good enough reason to get the job and it is a HARD road as bst. On the brighter side of things, bst can do the bcnm 40 fights rather easily provided that you can find 5 other beastmasters that would do it for you. In that case, I would say that bst would be as fast if not faster than thf in getting gil on a per week basis.

Don't expect to be able to do this non stop as you are capped by the number of seals that you can get. Also, some ppl pointed out to me that you have to get exp from the kill to get a beastmen seal to drop. This is 2nd hand info and I don't know for sure.

However, if you don't want to spend hours killing things for drops or lving a job just to make gil, go buy some pickaxes and mine yourself to riches. or chop wood, or go fish.

FYI, broth pets cost money to use if you are faming in an area with lots of beastmen and nothing else to charm. A funguar costs about 700 gil. So a stack would cost you around 8400 gil. This is with max fame and my max character lv is 43.

12 funguars say they last the full amount of time each time, would be 12 x 15 min each = 180 minutes or about 3 hrs of farming goodness. Ppl report around 10k / hr maybe 20k/hr depending on your lv. So that 8400 would be made up for pretty fast as a bst.

Still hurts compared to a thf though. But not many thieves get to go on bcnm fights. So it evens out.

I can make 20k an hour against crap mobs, plus if i get the right drop from the NM around my farming area, i can get another 100k every 2 hrs which definitely adds up :sweat:

what do you guys sub for farming?

I was leaning towards whm cause taru thf can't really take too many hits without wincing ><

but then again, I can sub rng or bst for wide scan and scavenge with the rng. I guess it'd be kind of fun to screw around with a bst sub but sitting there to regen kind of sucks during farming.

I farm alot, I meant we should have like 10 hours to farm and see who could farm more D: ....That would be kind of fun becuase you'd get quite a bit of money more than you regularly would.

I use my crap war sub because where i farm, as i said, there are NMs that spawn so i should have Provoke. It also helps a little with vit, although if i used my NIN sub i think id get hit less... *ponders*

Problem witht he competition would be that all my gil comes from the items i get, obviously, like you and the prices can vary from place to place/time to time.

My opinion is that BSTs solo most of his life, so he gets many beastman seals/kindred seals. Plus BCNMs are very BST friendly, so if they get lucky . . .
