Can Theif use GS

Can Theives use Great Swords? i hope so cuz im looking to be a DRK/THF with max GS skill.. and getting Theif to lv 30 with no weapon profeciancy is gunna suck.

Thieves cannot equip great swords. Warriors can however and drk/war is more useful to 60 than drk/thf.

So start thief or warrior, and once you get the sub-job level up the opposite. If you are dead set on drk/thf, level warrior up to 29 and thief to 37 (maybe 45 for hide/th2) and then work on leveling dark knight from that point forward.

Thx for the advice, but id like to get DRK/THF its supposed to be one of the most damaging combo's, not only that but theif will help out with the DRK Dex and AGI

drk/war does more dmg, drk/thf to save the drk's ass w/fui~

Thf cannnot use any of the 2hd weapons: scythes, great swords, great axes.

Also, Drk/Thf is a crap combo unless you're 65+, and then you're only doing it to help manage hate.

Drk/War is what you should do until at least 60.

Damnit, I lost my whole post somehow. Here's the quick version:

If you're starting a new class, its the easiest thing in the world to raise new weaponskills along with the class. Most thieves are able to keep swords, daggers and H2H maxed out each level if they feel like it.

Also, you're a drk. you have metal armor, you will be able to take a few knocks in emergencies (no matter what those whiners on the drk board say ) , so having another provoke around (not to mention berzerk for the other 98% of the time) is extremely handy. A /thf sub really doesn't add anything to the party. Even sneak attack is only a critical hit when subbed.

It wouldn't be good until 60. You're going be playing 59 levels as a gimp. That's the thing about FFXI, all subs have different times that they shine. DON'T pick a sub just because it's good late game, pick a sub that is the best pick at your level (which would be WAR 1-59).
