  • Importance of Attack+ Equip

yep, this is a topic i havent found a satisfying answer to yet. how important is attack+ for thfs?
say you can choose between +2 dex and +10 attack, what should you get and why?

how attack works was explained as follows to me:
the higher your attack is the better is armor penetration, meaning if your attack was really high you could do about the same damage you do to an EP to an IT.
so attack only ensures you hit as hard as you actually can while str ups let you do higher max. damage.

please tell me if i'm getting this correct and let me know what you think is best

I'd rather get the +2 DEX.
Most of my attacks miss on IT mobs anyways.

            from the generally accepted formulas:

dex will add to your max sneak attack dmg
str will also add to your max sneak attack dmg, but it will also add to your max normal dmg.
(but consider that +dex will add far more dmg to sneak than +str does)

attack will ensure that you hit higher up on your dmg range each time. (effectively increasing your minimum dmg, while leaving the max dmg alone).

as for the question of +2dex vs +10atk, I think it depends on how much atk you already have. because you can hit a wall with +atk where adding more won't necessarily help your dmg at all.
so in answer to the question. I think if you're hitting for 0 very often, then the attack will be better. also, if you find yourself doing a large range of dmg to the same type of mob.. ie.. if you hit sneak+trick for 120 one time, and then the next time, you hit for 300, and your damage varies that much, then you would probably benefit from the +atk.
alternatively, if you find yourself always hitting for over 0 dmg normally, and hit for consistently the same dmg with sneak+trick, then the +dex will be better for you.

            hope this helps
            have fun
