  • Evisceration WS

First, I wanted to know what level you can get this weapon skill at. I've seen a skill of 250 or 230 required.

    http://www.ausystem.org/~aushacho/gbox/ff/skill-e.html

Shows it to require 230 dagger skill and so a thf can get it at lvl 67.

I'm almost level 67 so I want to know what is correct.

Also, what are the requirements for obtaining it. You have to complete a quest right? Is there a certain level required to obtain the quest? How do you obtain it? And if anyone knows any other relevant information, I would appreciate you posting it.

By reading a few posts, I'm sort of thinking you have beat Maat for Genkai 5 as a requirement...

According to MysterTour, that site created by a Japanese player that they translated into English, its a Kahzam quest. Heres the requirements and all:

      Dagger WeaponSkills Quest

      Zone Kahzam?@
      NPC Wahcondalo
      Walkthrough Lv71+ & Dagger Skills 230+
      Reward Evisceration

      Doesnt say anything else.

The most fundamental requirement to activate this quest is for the suitable job to reach lvl 71. Since a thf at lvl 71 should have more than 230 skill points for dagger, that criteria doesn't really matter. For other classes though, they may only accept it at higher lvls.

You are to go to kazam and talk to someone, name i forgot ><, and then he will pass you a trial dagger. The aim is to accumulate enough points on the dagger to remove all the latent effect.

Eg: The latent effect has a +20hp effect. Once you equip it for the first time, you should see that you will get that +20hp bonus. But as you gain enough points, you will realise that eventually the +20hp bonus will disappear altogether. At that point in time, the dagger would have been stripped of all its innate ability.

Once the dagger is stripped of its ability, you trade that dagger with tat npc who will direct you to fight a bat nm in ... opps, i forgot the location. Once you have defeated that nm, go back to that npc and talk to him to get the new lousy ws.

Points are gain from doing ws. I've forgotten about the points system so for this part i can't help much. All i can say is if you are not in a rush, you can equip trial dagger and use it during lvl up party to remove its innate abilities. If you are in a rush, just sub samurai and go farm alone. With sam sub, you should be able to do alot more ws and can easily clear the abilities in 1~2hrs time.

Evicseration IMHO is a terrible ws. For a 5 hit ws, it is very weak. If i am doing light renkei, Shark bite is going to deal more damage especially after the major patch last year. The only reason i will use evisecration in light renkei is because i need to get back more Tp.

Thanks you for the responses, especially yours miffycat.

Could you tell me why you think it's bad in your opinion? I was hoping it would just be a stronger dancing edge.

My guess is something like: since tp doesn't make it more accurate, it probably varies greatly in how many out of the 5 swings actually hit.

If this is the reason, couldn't a lot of +accuracy equipment help?

If it isn't the reason, could you say what is?

          Thanks

Oh nono, when i use evisceration i am hitting 3~5 times regularly but the problem is, it is too weak. No it is not a stronger version of dancing, it is infact a weaker version of dancing edge. If you can, use sharkbite for light renkei unless you wanna gain tp fast.

Thanks again for the reply. Sort of off topic, but I wanted your opinion:

Do you think shark bite is better than dancing edge?

I know shark bite can do lvl 3 light renkeis which can be really nice, but if you couldn't get a lvl 3 renkai, do you like shark or dancing edge more?

I haven't been 66 long enough to have really concluded.

              Thanks again

Personally i prefer dancing BUT when you see yourself doing 800 plus damage with shark and additional 1300+ additional light renkei damage, your choice will tend to sway. Basically it boils down on who you are attacking and what renkei is possible in your party. Always aim to do a renkei which the mob is weak against. From lvl 71 onwards, light renkei would be good if you have a blm in your party. Their MB from light renkei can hit up to 1300++...
